Some residents have taken to parking their trucks in a pay lot over half a mile from the neighborhood,

The only thing I never got at all, damaged or just late, was a radio I bought from an Los Angeles seller. I wondered where it was and checked my email and I got a notice from Fedex saying the “Item was destroyed, train derailament!”. Yep, BNSF had a huge one in Texas the day before. Containers everywhere. A friend had

Yeah, either it failed there, or it failed on the other end and water hammered the glass out.

It’s crazy seeing how it’s two strong endcaps with the carbon fibre tube between them. You would think at least a metal structure between the two caps would have been done. Instead we have a Pringles tube design that pops the lid off when you squeeze it.

Here’s a photo from another source that shows the front section completely missing the glass. Perhaps that was the point of failure, or perhaps the failure was with the hull and pushed the glass out.

That should give you some idea as to what happened to the carbon composite hull, considering they were bonded to the thing.

There looks to be nothing left of real substance from the pressure hull. All the external pieces are the large parts which did not implode.

And the titanium rings are completely intact (slide 5).  Go figure.

Man that did not implode as completely as I thought/hoped it did.

Agree ... TOTALLY pleased w/ Amazon’s delivery. Into a gated community w/ 3-level condos, FWTW

That was his scanner he dropped

Might as well. There was no way he was going to match speeds with the runaway truck long enough to figure out where to grab hold of something and how to get in (preferably without getting scraped off against a phone pole in the attempt, or run over by your own front wheel, or both).

There should be a word for his specific brand of charming, persuasive nonsense.

I was the 2nd owner of my 2004 — previous owner had a fresh mazda rebuild put in, and it started getting poor compresison from the factory when warm after about 20k. Really disappointing...never had any oil issues, always used premix...did have a coil go which flooded and burnt the cats out. I miss driving it, but

They are the worst when it comes to actually delivery packages. They prefill out the “sorry we missed you” cards and just stick them on your door or just drive by and mark it as not home on their computers. Is this a surprise to anyone

I’m the third owner of mine, got it at around 130k miles, and it now has about 180k. I had to get the engine rebuilt because the apex seals blew. It turns out that the oil injectors were clogged and the rotor housings weren’t getting enough oil.

Can we talk about how great this emblem is?

Mazda Corporate: “How can we make this system more complicated? Let’s add an engine that will much faster than a piston engine. That oughta show those EV makers!”

“BMW was surprised at how much validation that Toyota did before production, while Toyota was surprised at how far BMW pushed the envelope in terms of performance”

I really appreciate Toyota for how dependable they are, but that’s really all you get out them. They’re not really great at anything - just adequate. The powertrains are low stress and almost never best in class (which I’m sure is one of the main reasons they are so damn reliable).
