Oh I understand that they abandoned the WiiU. My gripe is more with the fact that they abandoned it to go and make a new system so similar to the WiiU in terms of graphical and gameplay capabilities.

Frankly, at first I didn’t mind that the WiiU was abandoned early. I thought and I still think that there was nothing Nintendo could have done to make it a success.

  • “I never owned a Wii because I lived with friends who had them, so I use the thing to play Wii games I missed (like the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Skyward Sword, etc)“

Not angry. Amused that you assume cookies are the only thing I feed my children, and that you think three or four of them is going to lead to obesity and health problems. They’re occasional snacks.

But hey, don’t let your own ignorant assumptions sway from that cause Sir Nachomacho, Knight of Children’s Futures.

It was IGN’s game of show. Not sure about other places

Using an app on your phone for social functions on another console is a fucking joke.

Wrong.

I can’t even upgrade my weapons I’m about to give up and trade it in it’s not worth it

The TellTale game was a lot of fun. Even though it’s fairly on rails — because, y’know, TellTale — it was still a cool exploration of that world. Plus it’s got Patrick Warburton and some amazing music.

Nah, not dead...Borderlands 3 (name TBD) is next. I think part of the reason there isn’t a whole lot of buzz right now is due to the fact that a lot of gamers view the CEO of Gearbox as some kind of villain. I don’t really follow gaming politics so I’m not 100% sure, but a lot of times when Borderlands games are

You need to complete shrines and gather spirit orbs from them. Every 4 you get you can go to a statue in the towns and opt for either increased stamina or a heart.

Actually no. If it arrived last year it may have been able to save the Wii U.

It’s definitely a good game, but I don’t know about technical marvel. The game chokes a lot for me and kills the frame rate. I’ll go with “mostly solid.”

for me it’s the opposite. I had 3 games for Wii U and it was just sitting on my shelf for 2 years. I really purchased it to play Wind Waker which was my favorite Zelda game, then BOTW comes out and it’s like finding gold. Totally justified my purchase at the end. It’s like a hail mary at the end of a football game.

When you buy a Wii U in 2015 expecting it come out that year and instead wait 2 years (and buy another Nintendo system) I wouldn’t call it on time. Don’t get me wrong it was worth the wait but I personally would have skipped the Wii U if I would have known.

This was very well written but at no point did anybody call it a Lolsuit and I am disappointed.

I’d argue that it’s absolutely huge. In 20 fucking 17 when this kind of thing is easy as hell and new technology is always vulnerable to failure, it’s completely acceptable that they’re stuck in a philosophy from 15 years ago.

That’s the thing I don’t understand about Nintendo. They lag behind the other console developers by about 10 years features wise. Their online system is horrible and I heard that your VC purchases from other Nintendo consoles don’t transfer to the Switch (still need to verify this). And speaking of VC, which has

But what have any of their “unique ideas” amounted to anything worth-while in the long run? I really don’t think so. Wii Sports was fun but motion control turned out to have no lasting relevance. Two screen gaming worked great for the DS/3DS, but didn’t translate to a traditional console. They have shown that they can

Which can be said about a bajillion things when it comes to the Switch.
