I'm sorry but the comics and the cartoon have very little in common. The original cartoon was a terrible representation of the comics, the CGI turtle movie was much closer. The cartoon was absolutely NOT amazing when compared to the comics.

Product placement is a whole different beast from merely producing content, though. It ruins lots of media and it's a bummer when a company that doesn't absolutely have to do it to get something made (i.e., Nintendo) uses it.

Sports games have a reason to do it as they tend to be sims to an extent. And the licensing is all part of building a believable world. Last I checked, Mario Kart wasn't a sim.
