You know, Nintendo came out on top primarily because of how much focus they were able to nab, but when you get right down to it they are still in exactly the boat they were in prior to E3. The immediate release schedule for Wii U is remarkably barren with a couple lower profile titles holding them over until SSB4…
Nintendo winning shocks me. Not that I'm not excited about what's to come, because I'm buying a Wii-U the moment Smash is released. But that brings me to my point.....did Nintendo really win? Or did they just stop sucking? Past few E3s have been garbage for Nintendo. Now they play it right and announce things everyone…
I'm (that guy) who doesn't judge my life on how much money I accumulated. Even though it is far, far more than you have earned.
YES PLEASE... I was so disappointed by the lack of Metroid at E3. She was way overdue to return.
Could make F-Zero multiplayer more interesting... possibly.
Can you even begin to imagine what the cockpit of the inside of an F-Zero machine could look through THAT thing? OH THE POSSIBILITIES!!!
I doubt it... The Xbox controller is basically a rip off of the Gamecube controller layout with two full sized thumb sticks and a standard 4 point action button layout. He probably feels right at home.
I feel like you kinda do need to work exclusively in first person... 3rd person would be extremely disorienting given that we're used to the camera following the character... if it starts swinging around wildly when we turn our heads it would feel extremely weird. With first person it makes sense because where you…
The funny thing is that I felt like I got my first taste of what looking around in a virtual world could be from Ocarina of Time on 3DS. There was a first person view mode that you could control with the gyroscope.
The camera has been less free and less under control of the player recently in the Galaxy and 3D World/Land games because people bitched about the camera in Mario Sunshine for some reason- despite the fact that you basically had total control over it.
Hopefully this means Nintendo will be more receptive to technology and not continue to be obstinate.
Watch now the Wii U will get VR or the next Nintendo console will use it as its gimmick.
This is true. In fact Mario 64 invented modern video game cameras. I would rather metroid and star fox tbh.
The Starfox he showed off at E3 wasn't. In fact, it'd be even cooler with a Rift than with the Gamepad!
Starfox would fit great. Imagine being INSIDE the Arwing. Seeing as how Starfox 64 was made because of the Rumble Pak, to make you FEEL the experiance, it's the most logical evolution.
Starfox and Metroid would actually be to 2 greatest franchises that could take advantage of the occulus for very simple and easy reasons. F-Zero would also make great use of the rift but I could see people getting motion/car sick from prolonged playing, but if any franchises that ninento owns that could pull off VR…
Mario would work just fine, as long as it's not in first person. You don't need to make every VR game first person. What matters is freedom to look around.
uhhh oh...
seems obvious but Luigi's Mansion Oculus style
