Serious question: Why is it “completely insane” (or let’s say unwise) to let people take drugs the FDA has deemed safe but is still exploring for effectiveness? Sure, some will turn out to be quack pills and then their claims can be regulated, but some will turn out to be helpful.

Are you saying that ZEV credits benefit Tesla less than they do other carmakers, such that getting rid of them would harm Tesla less than it would other carmakers, making it a net benefit for Tesla?

Thanks, Jon. I don’t think the author meant to imply that getting rid of ZEV credits would make other carmakers stop making EVs. That would be a large chunk of reasoning to leave out of the article.

I’m missing something. How would getting rid of ZEV credits “help” Tesla? Tesla makes a (small) profit from them.
