I did eventually finish off DA2 but did not really like the story all that much, I don't think you're losing out much by not finishing it. I'm really looking forward to DA3 ^^

I too observed this. The way Witcher 1 was, I couldn't spend more than 10 minutes in game. Witcher 2 on the other hand had me invested from scene 1. The opposite is true (in my case) for Dragon Age.
Do it, get it, it feels like Far Cry 3 when you're taking out outposts.
I haven't played that one so I wouldn't know :)
