i would probably prefer to judge her on a lay up where she was not laughing.

I wouldn’t know generally, but when I was in college I was fairly sure that the women’s team could annihilate the men’s team. *shrug*
Man, I hate to even acknowledge this question but I have some relevant anecdotal evidence.
This. The false equivalencies this cycle were amazing.
Had Elizabeth run I could have cast a vote for a nationalist, a populist, a thoughtful and honorable person who carries with her no sense of superiority or pretension. She is noble in her actions and usually in her words. Hell, she wrote a personal finance book that is still working its way through my mind.
When I was in college our women’s basketball team played a pickup game against some guys at the student rec center. The guys weren’t on an official team, but played together quite a bit. The guys won in a close game. For context:
You did ask about the elite level, so I just figured we should dip into the WNBA discussion. That said, I would guess a 17 year-old male who was 6'5" with marginal-to-good skills would start at 95% of women’s NCAA programs. A 6'5" kid with good-to-great hands and footwork is all-conference maybe All-American.…
Everything about that dribble and layup looked fairly unathletic,..
I went to a mid-major school, and a team of five guys from my dorm floor in various stages of fitness beat the women’s team in a game. I played in the low post (and I’m 5'10").
I discussed this exact question a couple of weeks ago with a B1G women’s varsity player who has since played and coached boys hoops in Europe. She feels that a good college women’s team would be competitive with a good boys high school freshman or JV team. (This would be consistent with soccer - the USWNT scrimmages…
An elite women’s bball player is far, far better than your average rec league player. Some rec league players may be more athletic than them due to the difference in body types, but basketball ability & IQ the women’s player wins.
A long while back I think it was Sports Illustrated that did an article on the scout team for the Tennessee women’s team under Pat Summit. They were basically run of the mill high school players that ran the other team. In the article it said they basically never played offense, only ran defense for the Lady Vols to…
When I was in college Lindsey Whalen played at the rec somewhat regularly. I don’t recall her wiping the floor with guys but I don’t think she was getting schooled, either. On the outside with an open shot she was most effective, nothing in the key though.
I’m a Cowboys fan, and I have no problem with you complimenting both our offensive line and our running back.
I fully support your right to compliment each and every Cowboys player.
I’m not sure why it would upset Cowboys fans to hear that their relatively inexpensive offensive line has made it possible for them to elevate the play of two rookies on dirt cheap contracts with the potential to make them a great team for the next 5-10 years.
Female competitive (professional/olympic) is about on par with junior high/high school boys performance.
Not very.
I went to UF which has a decent but not elite women’s basketball team. They had a “practice team” of guys who they scrimmaged against made up of former high school starters. I’m never went to the practice so I don’t know how the women’s players faired, but the practice team won the men’s intramural championship at UF…
They’re good but not quite Joe Flacco level Elite.
equal to a high school mid-level varsity team, maybe
