Here’s my question:
Here’s my question:
Whataboutism Simulator 2018. Nice, comrade.
For all that we’ve been arguing, the fundamental point remains. Gaming,as an industry, is driven by economies of scale. There’s a simple reason that the price of a videogame hasn’t increased with inflation, it’s because the market is substantially bigger than it has ever been. That’s a good thing. It’s what keeps…
Alright, lets play this game then:
That’s an oversimplification though. There are other factors as well. For example, first moving away from cartridges saved a fortune in manufacturing. Then they cut out the proper manuals and other inserts we used to get with games. Now that stuff just appears in the more expensive collectors editions. Then they went…
Except you didn’t tear my argument to shreds at all. You simply posited that there are fewer consoles sold this generation than the previous generation. You provided no authority for your claim, I’m presuming you ignored data from foreign markets, you completely ignored the PC market and you focused on a very narrow…
You act as though your math is completely unimpeachable. Math is simply a way of processing data. Garbage data in, garbage data out.
I’ve heard that argument a lot, and while there is probably something to it, you can’t also ignore the fact that the market for games is significantly larger than it has been in the past and that development cost is a one time cost rather than a “per unit” cost.
I can think of a way to save money and not spend 90 million on advertising live action commercials with B and A list celebrities for your major annual release that everyone and their dog knows is coming out.
Or, they could not spend millions on advertising and hype for games that don’t need it. Instead they do. They made this mess and expect us to constantly pay for their increased demands and frankly I am getting to the point I have almost stopped buying games.
Many are re-releases or remakes, (the leaked info on the PS…
really, fine with losing the solo gameplay immersion? fine with a cash shop for new crafting items? fine never getting another real Fallout or Elders Scrolls sologame, but happy playing another ARK-like game? REALLY???
To distract from the microtransaction controversy and try to get fake progressives to buy the game in protest of the 15 or whatever sexists the shill sites that are working with EA combed social media to find. Has anyone actually looked into these sources? They might just be PR accounts.
FYI, there’s other neutered e-sports you can watch.
Ah, yes, that “body language” over text message! How could he not see the signs? Guess what a hard no means: no. Guess what “meh, maybe you should date some other people and we’ll see when we get back together” means? I’ve got no idea, but I can’t blame a young college student in love for not catching the “subtext”.
He’s at a very myopic stage in his life, I agree he could use some leeway here, but he did submit a question to a blog called “tough love.” He sucks at picking up clues, maybe the direct advice he gets here will help him be less needy in the future, or learn to pick up clues.
It’s tough to be a guy from 18-25, you’re legal, think you know alot, but don’t actually know anything. Yeah he’s being super lame, but he’s young, and he’ll learn from this.
He doesn’t seem like a “nice guy” he seems like a guy whose not great at reading cues and is a bit infatuated with someone. He’s young and hopefully he takes this to heart and realizes that there are more ways to say No than just No and he has to learn to identify those.
Are you for real? Of course this thinking isn’t “abnormal”, because he’s young and in love. Jesus Christ, what’s wrong with you people? He’s a bit oblivious. That’s annoying, but nothing else.
Ditto - the sooner he gets it through his head that this ain’t happening, the happier he will be.
Go through a sad bastard phase, listen to The Cure/Blue October/whatever sad bastard music people listen to these days, get shitfaced drunk, UBER HOME, and get over it.
Don’t do anything stupid, hide your phone and don’t…
