I sold over 65 Nintendo 64 games and and the system to pay for a gamecube, all I had leftover was enough for one game. It was this, because gamecube had a very dry launch. I must have beaten this game like 40 times. I dont remember the game looking this bad though.

Mii clothing takes very little development effort, is entirely cosmetic and optional, and costs less than a dollar per costume. Even a goddamn Snickers bar costs more than a dollar these days.

Braking while drifting was added with the update (B+1+2), but braking itself has always been there (though no one will blame you for not noticing).

I think it was actually added for motion controls with the update. I'm not sure motion controls had a brake before, and that's all I've used.
