Doubt was the problem there.
That was actually alpha protocol’s system (later used in TT’s TWD and, loosely, in LA Noire), though it worked way, way better in Deus Ex. Or maybe the lead character in AP looked and sounded like such an asshole that it just felt like it didn’t work as well.
He perked up right away and asked them if they would rather see Star Wars. They said no, and the father seemed to deflate completely.
I’m curious as to why Anime titles often don’t get translated into English for articles like this. I don’t know what a “yo kai” is, but I do know that nobody refers to Sergio Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars” as “Per un Pugno di Dollari” outside of Italy.
Let’s see, one strong attack button + one weak attack button, click in + flick change focus targeting system, samey parry mechanic with similar timing, stamina bar that fills slower or faster depending on how robust the player’s armor is, dodge mechanic with invincibility frame numbers dictated by skill allocation…
Wait, you can grow bread in the Witcher 3?
Gameplay’s sort of a...I don’t want to say poor man’s Dark Souls 2, but...uh...a not quite as good, easier Dark Souls 2 mixed with a friendlier take on elements of LA Noire.
Man, I didn’t even realize Invisible Inc was out yet.
I think I bought Payday 2 for like a dollar of something. Must have been a sale.
“poorly executed”
Yeah, it’s really not a very good game, fellow Shiny. Interactive novels are barely games to begin with, but, insofar as they are, they live and die with the writing—not the subject matter of the writing (the subject matter, when DQ is praised for anything, is what DQ is praised for)—and the writing in Depression…
I might actually watch that, haha
It’s ‘enjoyable enough’ in the same sense the first Resident Evil movie was.
I’m not one to object to casting actors for parts outside their race (I’ve long wanted Peter Mensah to play Kratos in any God of War movie and had no issue with Gyllenhaal in PoP) as long as it’s plausible either visually or narratively, but Fassbender’s really, really wrong for the part of an Assassin.
The “vibrant colors” are out of sync with the backdrops, the tone of the narrative and, especially, the sound of the game. In the part of the game corresponding to your picture, this song is playing
Depends who does the work. The Tactics Ogre remake was tremendous (though, they had to contract that out to the original project director to get those results) and FF1/2 and 4 were solid.
I think the journalists and reddit are overthinking this. If the content of this game’s stolen, you’ll find out when the other person sues. Until that point, it’s safe to assume the “stolen” aspect of the narrative is allegorical or metaphorical.
The last hour or so is a disappointment, switching out the engaging stealth for some rote and frustrating shooting
Don’t forget Neverwinter Nights Hordes of the Underdark.
