There's no lack of TAY pics this month, so you know yours was chosen because it's cool. I really liked the one with the picture frame, but hey, this one worked fine after all.

The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.
Is the footage from the Game Boy Color version?
It'd make a nice poster without all that crap around it.
@Slagathorian: Oh damn, that's quite a bit if you're making so many. They look gorgeous, so your time is worth plenty. I only work with pixels on Photoshop. Want me to make you a Final Fantasy-themed PS3 or Xbox 360 wallpaper?
Rydia owns! How much does it cost to make a single character?
ak-blanc - peace!: You did say it was the only shooter you played, but I needed to get that off my chest. You might have liked Astro Warrior or Thunder Blade on the Master System.
Decades ago, my sister and me were offered one Sega Master System game each for Christmas. I chose Choplifter, a pretty sweet shooter as well, and she chose Fantasy Zone. I LOL'ed, until I played it. I admit playing Fantasy Zone more than Choplifter.
Prof.Gast is out of control! If you shot him with a tranquilizer dart, the dart would start making TAY pics.
Yeah, R-Type, that's my all-time favorite. Geometry Wars totally counts, and it is awesome. I played an old Konami shooter at the arcade a lot, not Gradius, just can't remember the name at the moment. It was very loud and colorful, with really sweet background graphics and as expected, ridiculously big bosses.
I've enjoyed Gradius since the first one on the NES, but part III was a true masterpiece!
TransBot was shit! I admit back then I was super excited about it, being the only game I owned that came in a card. It was just so monotonous. There's some nostalgia going on here, but I have to say the game was shit.
Space shoot-em-ups have been part of the gaming world since the very beginning, with games like Space Invaders and Galaga. After so many shots fired, ships lost, sore fingers and controllers thrown, what is your favorite game in this brutal genre?
DNitems, with an "s" at the end.
You did what now?
That works! I'll make a theme out of this, so be on the lookout for further Photoshop shenanigans.
@ak-blanc - peace!: Oh, I hearted you too. Won't even bother looking to translate that into French, because I might end up accidentally asking for your hand in marriage.
I don't want her gone.
@Prof.Gast: I went to ca.kotaku a while back just to heart you, Gast. I'm feeling so much love today. Also, congratulations on getting featured on TAY. Looking at the TAY pic makes me think of Independence Day, the holiday, not the flick.
