I agree with producing home grown talent. That is another big factor. Again, this goes back to good work from the GM, back office and scouting. Not just throwing metric shitloads of money at the players you want.

That is because the GMs have done their job. They have spent the money they have wisely, and hired good coaching. Winning and good coaching will get you players who are willing to take less to come to a team. I would like to see GM skill be the deciding factor and not who can spend the most money.

It becomes a game of who has the biggest wad of cash and who can buy the most players. Instead, GMs should be making smart decisions with a set dollar amount. That requires skill.
There is no parity in the game and it really is making baseball harder to watch.
Look at every sport with a salary cap, there is more parity…
