'there are wolves in the street, and they will rape you if you drive.'
'there are wolves in the street, and they will rape you if you drive.'
Whenever I'm tempted to drop the c-word I play it out in my head with a different word that is completely beyond acceptable in pretty much any context. Haven't used the c-word since I started doing that.
What movie is it? I haven't seen.
Haha!! This!
Well that explains it. I've been wondering about that for a long time.
Yep. I work in manufacturing and there is really no advantage for our suppliers to be appointing females as general managers yet I see them all the time. Best 'man' for the job, eh? There are a lot of things I am critical about China for, but I have a ton of respect for the way women (very, very generally speaking…
That's true. It makes perfect marketing sense from the perspective of something like makeup.
That goes without saying. The one child policy has produced some pretty gruesome consequences. Boys are heavily favoured by China's poorest for the simple fact that they have the potential to earn more in low-paying jobs. As unforgivable as that may be, it is not the product of an overarching patriarchy. Like most…
Honest question: where are the trolls on Gawker network sites?
I encounter far more women in executive and management roles in China than I would in Europe or North America. There is a lot of progress that needs to happen here, but it feels like China is teeing off from much closer to the hole.
At 16 years old?!!!! I can't stand hearing this. This should be headline news. The judge who committed him should be an infamous pariah. "JUDGE COMMITS ADOLESCENT TO SIX YEARS IN JAIL FOR PETTY THEFT IN HEINOUS MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE - LOCAL CITIZENS FURIOUS". Where was that headline? Are they not charged with the…
Heh heh. I didn't expect to see so many Gates supporters on Gawker. I know he's charitable but I don't think that is an excuse for what he did with Microsoft (monopoly, crap product, buggy, unstable, etc.).
Microsoft is known for being a monopoly that actively strangled competition (and thus innovation). Were it not for Gates I firmly believe that the state of software would be 10 years ahead of where it is now. We're conditioned to accept buggy, unstable programs because of Microsoft's fundamental disregard of consumers.
Touche. His charity work is phenomenal.
It's hard to argue with his charity work, which is phenomenal. I can't say anything against that.
Can't deny that his charity work is impressive. In that respect he has done a lot of good.
Microsoft products are an inevitable and major part of our daily lives. With the resources Microsoft has at their fingertips it's inexplicable to me why they are so incredibly buggy, unstable, prone to viruses, resource hogging, etc. etc. Why don't they fix their products? The attitude Microsoft has toward its…
It hurts my heart to hear that.
Believe me, I don't want to feel this way. I honestly believe that Gates is a macro level misogynist. I haven't been able to convince myself otherwise.
I'm a super straight dude and I'm always trying to get my bros out to spin class cause it's awesome. I don't know know anyone who stereotypes spin class as something for women and gay men. You're thinking of yoga.
