Kylie, I usually appreciate your reporting, but you dropped the ball on this one with reporting the wrong city.

It really is, and as a garden owner and grandparent, I can totally relate.
I’m kind of over everything else.

It’s tremendously sad news, but I commend that baller attitude towards death. As someone with my own serious health issues, it’s kind of aspirational.

That is a total mischaracterization of what she did.  She condemned killing of innocents by anyone.  How on earth is that a controversial take?

This is the same Israeli government that equates periodically slaughtering thousands of innocent Gazans to some moderate yardwork, right? Despicable.

Oh I think it’s very clear why they are doing this. Old Benji wants a genocide and the Israeli government can’t let all these high visibility celebrities influence their followers with things like reason and empathy. It unmuddies the water they’ve worked so hard to keep dirty. I can’t begin to tell you how many people

It’s not “potential Christian babies” - the cruelty is what’s most important.

…her water broke. She begged to be taken to the hospital but was told to “sleep it off” and wait until Monday (two days later) to give birth.

If a person purposely fails to understand that “Israel as a people” are different than “Israel as a government” then it becomes easy to lie about someone like Tlaib and then misconstrue what she said for a gotcha sound bite.

The best critique of South Park and one that’s come the closest to explaining why it rubs me the wrong way is that they always take the side of “not caring”. The end result is always that caring about anything is dumb and “both sides” are bad if either of them actually care.

Listen, if anyone can be trusted to deliver a script about media pandering, it’s South Park, the ancient franchise that’s been pandering nonstop to mediocre edgy white dudebros for a quarter century.

When does this go from ‘just business’ to ‘perpetrating extinction on a global scale, with a side of manufacturing consent’?

I’m surprised they didn’t sponsor Call Of Duty, since they, y’know, sponsored the original war half those games are based on.

This is what happens when oil companies have billions to burn on lame attempts to improve their images but not on improving the environment, you should definitely be pissed at all involved for blatantly obvious self serving propaganda being licked up by IGN and influencers. It’s indeed sick af when corporate image is

“Hey kids! You’re absolutely fucked because we just refuse to pivot our business away from fossil fuels. But at least you can floss in Fortnite!” - the soulless cock-gobblers at Shell

Shell manager who came up with that line was probably like:

I love how they are trying to be cool with the kids and then have the tag “shellstationsus”
Shell Stations US was probably their intention... but the kids will read it differently.

Thank you so much for sharing this story, Prachi. This is the most incisive and heartfelt reporting I’ve ever read.

As a middle aged, first generation, Desi guy; this was eye opening. My condolences to you and your family. I am sorry for your loss. I want to write more, but I will refrain. I am going to reread this again as I have nephews, nieces and sons and daughters of friends that feel this sense of alienation.

[heart emoji] My brother went missing (presumed dead) approximately 18 months ago. After he went missing, my mom and I found some google searches on suicide and time spent on conspiracy theory sites. I did not reach out to him enough because he so rarely reciprocated and because he put on a brave face to the rest of
