I think you’re spot on with this. The Wrangler isn’t exactly the greatest vehicle in the world but it inspires the greatest brand loyalty by far. The only thing that comes close are full sized pickup trucks from the big three.

There is also the question of manufacturing capacity and available materials. Lithium doesn’t grow on trees. If we are going to totally kill off ICE then we need to have a full accounting of the supply chain for production of electrics as well as the supporting infrastructure.
