I think the answer is pretty simple. The word is out that Alfa’s have just as bad quality as the rest of Fiat’s products. Very few are willing to take a chance on it. Maybe if they gave a damn about quality, people would pay more attention.

I get what you’re saying and I agree to a point. However for $18K I’d still be in. It isn’t a massive task to swap out that rear and get this back to OEM condition. The only problem would be mismatched serial numbers.
