@lostarchitect: Apple designed something that requires a tool to get to the SIM card, so they should include that tool. Yes, I have bought stuff that came with tools. For example, my desk came with an L-shaped tool to help put the damn thing together. Oh, and my 3GS came with a tool to get the SIM card out.

@alexmg2420: I skimmed the article. It's late...plus it sounded way too whiny and entitled. He must sold his 3GS dirt cheap if he still can't afford the $599 price. In NYC an unlocked/jail broken 3GS goes for $400 on Craigslist.

Just sell your 3GS on eBay or craigslist to help with the cost. No one wants to pay $600 for a phone, but at least that'll help.
