I saw that movie. It was awesome. And I agree with you.

I agree with this, but I think that reverse-sexism or reverse-objectification is not a good way to combat real sexism or objectification (if we need to combat objectification, that is).

so fur

Very sexy indeed.

You know what? Nobody cares that you have a thigh gap.

It would be great if dressing up as another person could be treated exactly the same no matter who it is and what race they are. Unfortunately, context and history make that impossible.

Yes, you can, because there are literally thousands and thousands of ways of dressing up as other people which don't involve a practice that was specifically used to deride and marginalize a particular race.

I disagree. My neighbour and I decorated our shared front porch with cheap cobwebs and pumpkins we carved ourselves and it looks AWESOME. We had a lot of fun doing it, and hopefully the kids who come trick-or-treating tonight will get a kick out of it too. Tomorrow night, for Grown-Up Hallowe'en, we'll get dressed up

Yes, and you've commented on every single one of them.

There is a middle ground between "Racist Hallowe'en" and "No Hallowe'en at all".

Glad it worked out :D

Arthur Dent is a good idea.

Do you have time tomorrow to grab a mask? Most costume stores have a good selection of animal masks. Just pick one and dress in colours to match. I bought a bunny mask; add a grey dress and tights I already own and I'm good to go. If I'm feeling crafty I might make a tail tonight.

He doesn't say that, at least not in the article you've linked to.

Your observation wasn't about the "flood", though, was it? You were implying that you think complaints about blackface are unwarranted. The fact that you didn't bother supplying any reasons for your opinions is why it's so easy to label you a troll.

In an alternate universe where white people were enslaved and oppressed, and whiteface was donned as a way to ridicule and further marginalize white people, that would be really offensive.

Trolls usually post a comment to the main story, so they can bait as many people as possible, rather than the few who have followed a comment thread this far down.

This is the thing that some people don't understand.

I'm not going to get drawn into discussing this case because I'm not privy to the details. A lot of shit was thrown around about this, about 50-50 split between people assuming he is guilty and suggesting she was intimidated into being quiet, and people pointing to photos of her taken just after the incident took
