I’ve literally seen people try to argue that The Last Jedi ruined Star Wars forever. Like, the entirety of Star Wars. Fucking idiots the lot of them.

The rest of your comment largely amounted to “I don’t agree, I think Canto Bight was worse than your examples”. Arguing that would be redundant, as at that point it just comes down to questioning your taste.

I’m not using anything “against you”, dude. I’m questioning your opinions on a film: that’s not a personal attack, unless your identity is built around dumb Star Wars takes.

It’s already established in the prior episode that Rey can fight, and has gotten pretty good at it with her staff. To which she continues practising in TLJ. 

In my experience the people who have an unreasonable hate for the movie holds the prequels in a very high regard.

Right? I don’t get how it’s so hard for people to imagine that. It wasn’t the entire might of the first order chasing the resistance. They still had other campaigns and other legions spread throughout the galaxy to ensure their grip.

Oh joy. It wouldn’t be a TLJ thread without someone posting a long arse video “which perfectly encapsulates why I think it was a crappy movie”.

It had the main character learning things in mere hours that took “The Chosen One” years to learn.

There are lies and damn lies, you are telling a damn lie because you know good and well you’ll go to any Starwars movie released in theaters just like all the other angry Starwars nerds crying about the horrors of this movie, these are facts.

People who claim this movie ruined Star Wars but didn’t make the same claim of Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones are full of shit.  At the end of the day, this is somewhere between the 3rd and 8th best Star Wars movie depending on your taste. It has some amazing moments and some subpar - just like every Star Wars…

Canto Bight isn’t the worst scene on Star Wars. You could pick just about any scene prominently featuring Jar Jar, or any scene between Padme and Anakin, and say it’s worse than Canto Bight.

That coupled with the rise of white nationalism and Trump, led to a backlash of whiney alt-right manbabies who don’t want to see Luke murder…

I thought the same thing, but to be fair to this article, those discussions get framed in a completely different context that this one. Like, all of those actors are celebrated for that physical commitment to the role and no interviewer prefaces their questions with concerns that the actors’ weight fluctuations…
