I received a letter from Kia last week regarding a no-cost “anti-theft software upgrade” (immobilizer) which I immediately called for an appointment to get installed. If you get one of these letters, don’t procrastinate because the no-cost offer expires August 1, 2023 and the soonest appointment I could get is six

I called KIA two weeks ago on this issue and was told we would get a letter when and if we can even get the fix. They don’t even know what cars they can fix in this manner.

I’m pretty sure in most states they have discretion to charge/ticket you for operating impaired if you show visible signs of impairment even being below the limit. .08 is just the legal limit where you automatically get charged if you’re at/above.

Now playing

Also just to throw this out there, don’t miss the updated Retro-Encabulator and it’s even MORE updated Hyperencabultor for the modern high-tech environment.

Not sure if trolling or not but if you do plan on driving a car, especially one that’s 33 years old, you absolutely do not want one with extremely low miles unless you plan on putting a LOT of work into it. Seals and other parts go bad, dry rot, crack if not used, and not allowed to get up to temperature regularly.

Cops are allowed to lie to people, the officer should have just faked he was turning it off & let Drunky McCorruptCop think he was safe to be unguarded in what he sd & did. He may have implicated himself in something worse to be charged w/.

More manufacturers should do this IMO

Someone should follow the career of Sgt. Skiiiiiiinnneerrr! See what happens to him after busting a Capt. Instead of letting him go.

Well I wish that arresting officer all the luck in witness protection.

“I cannot sir. I know you’re aware of our body camera policy. You know I cannot turn off this body camera,” the officer says. “I have taken an oath to uphold the law.”

I remember when it used to be $.20 more. (old man shakes fist at clouds)

Having had the CX-5 Turbo before I traded it for a GR Corolla, I can confidently say that 87 made zero difference in the low end. Which is where the car spends most of its time. Having used 87 in the cold dead of winter, I may as well be using premium since the intake air and charge cooled air post intercooler is

I like what Mazda does with the 2.5 Turbo. Premium is not required, it has two power outputs - 227 HP or 250/256 HP and 310 or 320 lbft based on the rating (87 or 93) and you can use Regular no problem. They advertise this and let the consumer decide. More manufacturers should do this IMO

It’s not as detrimental nowadays as it was for older cars. you can put mid/low grade octane in premium cars and the computer will adjust the tune. I mean it’ll suck from a performance view, but if your in a pinch you can get away with it...I wouldn’t try it in a Ferrari though, you may get sued.

I’m not a mechanic, but does any A/C system “just need charging”? They’re sealed systems. If the refrigerant is gone and needs a “charge”, then it leaked out somewhere, right? So best case something came loose. Worst case, you have a failed part requiring replacement.

That Yellowbird video is amazing.

We need to start showing the C4 some love. It’s very cool, and the ZR-1 is the coolest. I’d love to have one, and I don’t even have a pair of New Balance sneakers. I’m in!  NP

For $28k, the just fix the damn AC.

RuF CTR video: Not even a helmet!

Absolutely.  They won’t say it, but that’s the point.  Sure, deaths due to DUI-related accidents may come down slightly.  What it will ABSOLUTELY do is get more people into the legal/punitive system and make a shit-ton of money for the local gov’t.
