There’s one really big important point that’s only tangentially referred to in here (and usually ignored by most critical articles): Most countries have set a 2030 (or later) deadline for EV-only sales. It’s that far away because everybody knows there are MANY years of difficult problems to solve. Battery tech needs

Shipping is the reason the community is there. There is plenty of open space in Nevada, no air pollution to speak of that is far away from warehouses and trucks. Making the situation more livable means more people and more gridlock and will increase competition for jobs, lowering the wages further.

Yup. Repealing the Jones act would just lead to foreign ships making these routes that use a flag of convivence so they can treat their employees horribly while paying almost nothing. Is that really a win? I mean, there are probably really good ways to improve the Jones act (maybe softening the US built ship

Yep, I remember it being A LOT worse a couple decades ago, but it’s still got a long way to go.

It’s not the only reason, but it is one, and one that could be addressed if the political/special-interest issues could be resolved.

I took the Stop The Bleed course (actually took it twice and am currently getting it taught at other organizations like community centers and churches). Though the bleeding slide is technically correct it is woefully simplistic. Knowing when to pack a wound and apply a tourniquet may very well mean the difference

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. -Wayne Gretsky. -Michael Scott.”

The urine one is also a great way to get out of meetings and family dinners.

Give the Prius Prime a rear-axle electric motor and sell it as a competitor to the WRX.

Native mid-westerner here. It’s well known that if there’s a tornado warning, you should IMMEDIATELY walk outside to see if you can spot it, particularly if you’re a dad. Bonus points for cracking a fresh beer as you stand there.

And they’re not even doing the misquote meme right. You have to have a quote, its attribution to someone other than the person actually speaking the line, and a picture of a third person who didn’t say the line either:

“Police officers in movies and on TV are always telling families to wait 24 or even 48 hours before filing a report about their missing loved one. This is a dramatic device, meant to increase the tension and buy more time for plot to happen. It is not an actual rule.”

Maybe George Santos?

Just go to bed.  When you wake up, you’ll be in Oz!

I don’t know... the promise of zero to 60 in 6.6 seconds plus the MPG’s has me considering it for the next car. If it actually handles it would be a nice little hatch...

of course it has a fucking CVT so... meh

Hopefully not. At this point, Toyota has resisted putting the GR badge on anything that isn’t an actual sports car or performance model, and I commend them for it.

I mean, as cool as it sounds, Jalops who want a hot Prius + the engineers who want it probably only makes like 30 people.
