I have close to 200 hours and more than half of the map is still dark. I’m near the end of the main questline but I’m probably going to leave it for a while.

Fallout’s one of those games where 42 hours is nothing.
Changing the FOV to 90 was literally the first thing I did when I started the game. That, and there was some horrid mouse acceleration issue that had to be handled too. Huge difference to playability.
It wasn’t terribly influential, though. You could steal everything in sight and still have great Karma if you did enough nice things.
Agreed. Maxon and his rage boner. Too bad you can’t off him quietly and stay in BoS’s good graces. That would be too easy and we don’t get easy in Fallout.
The problem with ESO is that it’s boring as shit after you finish your faction’s storyline. That’s a big fucking problem because I quite enjoyed it at first but found having to start another faction’s quests from the beginning, although at a higher level, utterly soul crushingly dull.
You can do quests for all of them, but you will eventually run into a quest — not the very last, endgame one — that makes other(s) hostile. Its is not necessarily preceded with a warning either. There’s plenty of info on this if you google it. You may miss out on one faction’s quests altogether. I think the Railroad…
An endless supply even!
Basically, you’re this guy, and with about as much power in the game. This is not a dig; I hate them too.
Like there’s a choice with replacing McNamara with Hardin in New Vegas? Except that as far as I know, Hardin is the worse elder. I love that kind of a choice: replace a shithead with a worse shithead, thinking you’re doing the right thing. Like going with the Yes Man “faction” thinking it’ll be all fun and games and…
The Brotherhood is either fascist or misguided albeit honorable, and the Institute is either evil or...misguided and out of touch. The Railroad and Minutemen are boring. In the end it was not about any of that stuff for me because Danse is pretty and I want to keep him around as a companion so I have to take the…
ESPECIALLY A DAYCARE CENTRE!!
Punching things to death is fun! Except ghouls. Fuck ghouls.
Junk used to be great. It was decoration and added to the environment and story. I’d rather leave it there, lying around uselessly than empty all locations of these mementos. I actually leave most stuff behind now, out of sentiment and because it really takes from the momentum of adventuring to have to haul ass back…
But...all those free BOS power armour pieces!
You can savescum through speech checks. For that reason Charisma does not make much of a difference. As to how those speech checks influence the game? Personally, if I wouldn’t have been able to pass speech checks in Blind Betrayal, I’d have left that quest unfinished until my Charisma was high enough. Sometimes it…
If someone beat Fallout 4 in 80 hours then they’ve only skimmed the surface. 80 hours will get the main story quests finished, even faster than that, but it’s nothing when it comes to experiencing the game.
Well, we know what happened to the annoying little kid called Arthur Maxon.
I thought Virgil’s holotape was like all the little notes and diaries next to corpses you’d find strewn about the Mojave in NV. A dead girl in a cabin in an irradiated area with her journal entries about life being pointless wanting to become a ghoul. These little nuggets of story about the world that would never be…
Everything is better with Carol’s face attached to it.
