I'm still working towards mine (and trying to figure this question out) while getting my degree in computer science. If I could choose to do so I would become a designer, I love GUI's and designing how the user interacts with computers.

Can anyone recommend a good Google Reader client I'm trying Leaf (featured here I believe) but Im not really liking it. I used to read Reeder but I found it was a memory hog.
Got it installed and it was very rough, the tools were pretty easy but in the end I reverted back to Android 4.2.2 following the instructions provided.
I'm flashing my Nexus 7 right now. I'll report back on how it works. At first I had some issues with a custom ROM but restoring it seemingly resolved the issue.
Ignore it. It's the best solution and there's no risk of you coming off as a dick.
Most scholarly PDF's have terrible formatting and often require moving the page frequently to read the entire text. This means that there are a lot of refreshes, something that doesn't work well for eink displays. I think LCD tablets would probably be the best for this type of reading. From my experience it's not the…
No OSX login. :(
I'm having a small issue with my Ubuntu media centre. It seems that whenever VLC starts to play any file the sound becomes very static-y until the volume is adjusted using the keyboard. I've tried adjusting the volume using alsamixer, however that doesn't seem to work. It has to be the keyboard. Any idea on how to fix…
Yep, I believe it's the Mac's from 2011 and onwards.
It's more symbolic than anything. People seem to look at New Year's as the opportunity to start again clean without the backlog of stuff. Of course new year's is the same as every other day, and it's never truly a fresh start. However people consider it to be a fresh start and that's a good thing because any step…
No luck on port 1337, I have SSHd turned off in services if that makes a difference.
I want to buy a new router (over boxing week) and I'm wondering if anyone has a model they recommend. It needs to have Gigabit ports and hopefully support DD-WRT? On a side note, does anyone know how to access my server behind a DD-WRT router? As in,
DIY in my opinion. Decent case, good processor and motherboard. Skip on the graphics card (or get cheap one for installation) and get a gigabit card. Load it full of hard drives and install some headless Debian or other Linux flavour. This also has the advantage of being able to do more than just a NAS.
If your work is boring why not try and incorporate your creative output into it, everyone appreciates a polished product.
At the rate the Nexus 4 is selling I would expect an otterbox case in the near future.
This is great, I'm probably going to be being just this in a few weeks. Hopefully they have features that help get away from such a "blogy" appearance.
Yeah, I've been playing with a terrible pair of 2.0 speakers that had a buzz to them (I use a monitor). I chose the x42's as they're on the cheaper side yet wireless with surround sound, not just stereo. I find they're comfortable to wear, and the batteries are pretty decent (2x AAA). Compared to what I was getting…
The guy at EB helped me out quite a bit and I wanted to give them the sale, but for $50 it's not worth it. Especially when you're a student and Bestbuy is a 5 minute walk away.
Although black friday is slowly spreading it's way up into Canada (big box stores) the crowds are far less intense, as are the deals. I managed to save about $50 on a pair of headphones turtle beach headphones. EB Games (Gamestop) refused to price match with Bestbuy.
I'll be celebrating the American thanksgiving for my first time today (Canadian). I'll be spending my afternoon making two pies for a potluck my friends and I will be having later tonight.
