@cghearn: Yeah, what a lame move. Why on earth would they do this? It's not like they couldn't figure a way to not include this app for iphones that don't support it.

@ghengis65: I'd argue the new Edge is much better looking. If Ford was going to mess with their BoF Explorer they should have come out swinging. Maybe they were gun shy from the Flex response and wanted to cover all their bland bases.

@SantaRita: Turn in your star. #9 was a good car that was mismarketed. It was based on the Contour and was truly original in the US. There was no Ford counterpart and could have competed with the sport coupes of its day had FoMoCo taken the effort to follow through with a sport model.

@ranwhenparked: I thought the same thing the other day but then realized that Mullaly's plan has always been to unify the products of the US with ROW. We're getting the Fiesta, new Focus, and probably next Mondeo as a Fusion replacement. No more need for Mercury.

The Cayenne driver needs new seats. The only way you miss a turn like that Sentra is if you're distracted by something like being on a phone, while smoking, and putting on lipstick/shaving.

A whopping 547 vehicles sold and affected.

@boofighter: Impressive. I could only get the V50 to just shy of $44k.

Oh, it's not THAT bad. You all know you'd be pretty spazzy seeing the cast driving around your town. Probably would not have put it on youtube though.

@Jeb_Hoge: A friend of a friend's R32 also just had his engine mount fail while driving. Engine meet freeway. Freeway meet engine.

Maybe I will roll the dice on a TDI Sportwagen.

@SecretAZNMan: Got the scoop from the bro-in-law who works for the news in Tulsa. "yeah one of our reporters did this story. i guess some old guy (like 67) had rented a car and got his [foot] stuck under the gas pedal and then it went into reverse across the parking lot and slammed into the wall. It was Mercedes

I haven't seen too many enclosed garages like that before. Well, I guess it's not enclosed anymore. Too bad there wasn't a tall building nearby for someone to speculate it had flown across:)

A lifted beige GM pickup with CA plates reading GETWET. I'd also run onto the freeway shoulder to hit puddles when convertibles are in my rear view. There would be truck nuts on the hitch too, but obviously I have to wear them on myself.

@cubsftw: This makes me feel like I have no option but to spend over $33k on a Volvo V50 T5 with 6 speed because it's going to be the last of the breed. Nothing but slushboxes with push button you name it for future cars.

I don't care. Just let me know if I'll be able to get a 9-3 sport combi, 2.0t, 6speed with European delivery anytime soon.

@Maymar: The Myth Busters guys were doing it all wrong.

So many scenarios were going through my head in the first 30 seconds.

The Taurus was ugly, but I thought the Sable was actually much nicer. They were ahead of their time in some ways. Nice DOHC V6. Integrated control panel. Electronic automatic with the console shifter.

Sorry, but 23 MPG just won't cut it.

As long as the rest of the world has the stones to drive manuals, there will still be a few models available in the US. Those will be the few models I consider to buy. Pray that the rest of the world doesn't become as fat, lazy, and oblivious as many surrounding us on the highways.
