Ditto the Fiesta, but why must it be the crappiest configuration?

I can't believe Sam and the rest of you haven't brought up this breath of fresh air. There might be some plastic still used, but Ford definitely made an effort to NOT cover up their hard work.

What, no MX-5? How about the SVT Focus? One of them should shove out the Mini.

@SecretAZNMan: Hold the phone! Just saw that manual is available and 30+ MPG highway. I may have to give up on a sportwagon.

Yup, not bad at all. Not my cup of tea though. Can someone just please make something with a smaller D pillar and real rear visibility?

Given that the NA Fiesta shares only 60% of parts with its European counterpart, I wonder how much this shares with the JDM version.

@Ben Wojdyla: Well, the Mk 1 Focus came before that, and well, so did the Contour. Call me a pessimist, but 40% rework is mind bogglingly inefficient and provides room for F-ups in the translation from European to American (see previously mentioned Mk 1 Focus). For Ford's sake, I hope this thing doesn't suffer the

Is that seriously the third row??? When others have condemned the rear row for just kids, I just thought they were just whiners. This looks like an army cot. Wow.

A speed version of this would be great.

@Number_Six: Maybe these wheels will get hotter with age as well.

@Ash78: For some reason I see the Mazda5 as a tall wagon vs a small minivan. I know it has sliding doors, but it just has the right proportions and lines. This Grand C-Max screams minivan though. It's that weird glass between the C and D pillars. I'm glad Ford is bringing this over, but I'd prefer a manual Speed5.

What no Furai???

There used to be and may still be an exhibit at the Exploratorium in San Francisco that had a window into a real differential. It boggled my mind as a kid just looking at it.

@qwerk: Dude, wrong name. Wrong face. Wrong woman. This coming from the guy who couldn't tell they switched Benihana girls in that Office episode.

Sounds like a pretty solid review for only 3 stars.

@go_racing84: [/sarcasm] There. Fixed it for you.

OMG! WTF!?!? Rid the US of polluting vehicles by making their last gasp a smoky, oily, firey mess? I'm appalled by the screams from that perfectly good looking Volvo. Why can't that thing be salvaged for parts so that other polluting Volvos can be made cleaner running. Obama's approval rating is dropping...

@TampaRon: Yeah, I was just hoping that Suzuki would make it very close to the concept to really knock one out of the park. It looks like they were looking for a solid double. Now if they make a sport wagon, all bets are off. I'll pretty much buy the next sports wagon from any manufacturer that offers it with a
