On average. Then there's the character whose husband and two children were among the Suddenly Departed — presumably she's a character in the series as well as the novel. That scenario provides for a very broken person and potentially interesting story ideas.

I believe a movie should stand on its own. If you need to have dug through "viral marketing" on the internet in order to fully understand a movie, then the filmmakers have failed in their job as storytellers. Viral marketing should be considered gravy, extra fun for those willing to go through the trouble.
