Or maybe Hulst was just saying that they do not buy random companies and that they buy companies that they like to work with and it has nothing to do with Microsoft. You are reading into this clickbait headline. In fact Hulst said exactly that. Sony likes to buy companies that they have really good relationships,

Nah, Tencent is the biggest gaming company on the market and actually Dwarf pretty much all the biggest publishers, and in some cases combined.

Funny that people like you still say this stuff when Universal/Comcast and Time Warner/AT$T are just as large. Disney doesn’t even publish that many movies a year compared to some of the other larger companies. They do however make a lot of money because people love their films.  That is the difference.

It has nothing to do with Microsoft playing nice and everything to do with clauses when you sign a contract. Microsoft pretending that they are honoring these deals is nothing more than because they have too.

The Outer Worlds 2 is coming out now and it was denied a Playstation release even the first was released on playstation 4. I know Phill said they did not buy these studios to take games away from players, but so far that has been proven a lie.  While I still doubt TES, Doom and Fallout would be made exclusive, there

That is true, but Sony is now slouch either, there cash on hand is pretty close to the top 10.  I believe their 2020 report listed it at over 30 billion.

You are reaching. How about take things at face value. Hulst means what he means. They only ever acquire studios that they have previously worked with intimately. This has been proven time and time again. It is not a secret. Sony does not make random acquisitions.

I really hate articles and headlines like this. Causing drama where their are none. Making news into a school yard fight. You could just as easily read Hulst’s comment as explaining how Sony likes to do business which has nothing to do with Microsoft unless you are LOOKING for it. Sony’s acquisitions Cleary are not

Sony and Microsoft cash on hand is actually very similar, but of course Microsoft’s vast wealth lies in their Net worth, which is far larger than Sony. In the last several years sony has spent over 7 billion in various sectors acquiring stakes in companies and purchasing whole ones. Implying they don’t have the

Except the only person saying Sony is flexing is Kotaku and you guys are eating up. There is no drama here or unhanded insults. All Hulst means is that they acquire studios that have a history with PlayStation brand. So far only Kotaku has got into this clickbait headline nonsense with this announcement.

That is flat out wrong. There is an entire oral history of Naughty Dog floating around that disproves everything you just said. Go and read it. If it was that easy to create hit games then everyone would be doing it. In fact we have the perfect example in a studio MS bought in RARE. Rare mdde amazing work under

Sony owns bloodborne and fully funded the game. So this does not work for your argument. Sony went to them to create the game and they also helped create it as well.  Japan Studio worked on it before it died.

They were hardly multiplatform. Insomniac, Sucker Punch almost exclusively worked on Sony platforms. Naughty Dog worked on Dos and Amiba games before being bought by Sony very early on in gaming history. Naughty Dog did not create any hit games at that point. All of their success came under Sony. Guerilla created 2

What? How is that even remotely the same. You legit are using what-ifs to fuel a very real argument. Those game that Naughty Dog made were created by Sony. Uncharted wouldn’t exist without Sony. Last of Us wouldn’t exist without Sony.

Starfield would exist without Microsoft, Fallout and Elder Scrolls would exist

That was a rumor that was never confirmed about Sony trying to buy Starfield. You are naïve if you don’t think Starfield was being made for a console that has over 120+ systems sold, double the competitor.

Also you mentioned earlier that its the same as Sony buying Naughty Dog, and its not at all. Naughty Dog was

Sony acquired those studios when they were in their infancy in most cases and all the games released under them were created by Sony.  Meaning Sony funded those games for their first party studios.  None of these devs were working on multiplatform games for decades that were suddenly owned by Sony.  Name one

Name the multiplatform franchises that Sony bought out and said they are mine now.

That is BS. What IP’s have Sony bought that were once multiplatform and are not??

Obviously they can’t give the title away since it would spoil the fact that you play as Zelda and not Link.  This is why the teaser shows almost nothing of the game.  Link is likely not the hero this time around.

No they havn’t.  If you think they have, then what games have they done this with?
