It was an IP that would have also came to PS5 before the Microsoft acquisition.

What, that is ridiculous. Naughty Dog created those games under Sony. Games like Fallout, and Elder Scrolls and even Starfield were created independently. Micorosoft had nothing to do with them, but they then swooped in and bought the studio and now onw the franchises. They did not create them under Microsoft.
If you…
No you are comepetely wrong. It is different in that all of the devlopers games were created under Sony. They were not multiplatform. Last of Us Uncharted, Jak and Daxter, Horizon, ect were created Under Sony. Sony creates franchises while Microsoft just scoops up multiplatform studios and say these are ours now.
Huge…
Sony got to choose who made Spider-Man though and they chose Insomniac. Obviously their deal to by Insomniac was in the works for a while.
Your example is garbage considering everything those studios have done have been games created under Sony. They did not suddenly take all these multiplatform games and say you guys don’t get them anymore like Microsoft has done. Last of US, God of War, Horizon are all games created UNDER SONY.
What? Those games are made by Sony studios. Bethesda was a 3rd party studio making games that were multiplatform for decades. Even if Xbox owns them now they were not XBOX games and those games would have 100% hit Playstation consoles.
It is clear you do not understand the entire point of this article.
The game is still available on ps5 and ps4, just not digitally.
So Ratchet and Clank plays like a Ratchet and Clank game and that is a negative?? I get it that games like BoTW and God of War reinvented themselves to overwhelming success, but not every game has to do that.
To each their own though. It sounds like I am one of the few people who wants R&C to play as it always has.…
Its not made up, you can literally find this information in about 1 minute using google.
You know how long Uncharted 2 took to make.....2 years. Thanks for providing an example to my point. Funny thing is, I actually made that exact same point down below already, even using Uncharted 1/2 as an example of churning out a game in 2 years. Also everyone knows Ubisoft have teams go back and forth on AC, but…
No, Crunch culture didn’t exist then, that came about around Uncharted 4 Last of Us era. I can cite several interviews from ex-naughty dog who worked on Uncharted 1-3 as well as Jak and Daxter.
The reason why they could churn at the sequels at a quick rate is because all the backend stuff is done. They are essentially…
Sure but you also act like its unrealstic that a game can be made in 3 years when it’s using the same tech, engine, and all the systems are already done. There is a reason why Ubisoft could make an entire game in 2 years for several years, even spanning cross-gen.
You say I am making assumptions? I made zero assumptions. Go back and read the person who made this thread...the entire thing is one big assumption.
It has nothing to do with Breath of the Wild. Horizon Was the fastest selling new IP until Sony broke their own record. IT is 100% a covid based decision as almost every single game that was announced for 2021 has been pushed back already.
How is innovation at Sony a rarity? You talk about innovation and then go and praise BoTW which was not innovative at all. It was innovative for a ZELDA game, but not for the medium. Name one thing that game did and I will tell you exactly where it came from. Not only that but I can tell you where it was done better…
You said Horizon sold well but nothing like BoTW, and I just want to point out that is not entirely true. Horizon was a brand new IP, and at the time was the fastest selling brand new IP of all time, while BotW is a Zelda game which always sells well and has a very lucrative history. My point is it is hard to create…
Uncharted 1/2/3 only took 2 years to do and that game was a huge upgrade over the first. I can name about another dozen games that have quick turnaround on sequels if you wanna go down that route.
Implying that making games was somehow easier and quicker in the past is glossing over a a ton of history that had to be…
Sure, but most of the grunt work is done. They have all the systems in place, in terms of Engine, work, physics systems and simulations. all of that. The other thing is they already know how to work with the PS4 so their is no learning curve there. Releasing a sequel in 3 years happens all the time because they can…
Except Sony released God of War 1-2-3 in that same time frame. The only difference this time is Covid happened or GOW:R could have very well made it in time.
Lost Legacy or Uncharted 4 are a toss up for me on wich one is the best. The ending to Uncharted 4 really is one of the best in gaming history.
