Wow, no. It wasn't absurd. People form real, serious connections with the people on the other side of those avatars. Those avatars represent someone they know and may care about. Someone that, in the event of their death, they are unable to visit in person (due to distance or whatnot), and thus they want to hold a

First of all, I disagree with your assessment of it being absurd. Clearly the game played a large role in the deceased's life, and it is befitting for those who knew him / her who cannot attend an actual funeral to grieve in the way they've spent all other time with the deceased prior to the passing.

Second of all,

Why is it absurd? These people know each other through Wow. Are they really going to fly from all over the world for a memorial for someone most of them have not met personally? That would be absurd.

And also if you don't think people can be good enough friends to actually feel grief in an online world i think you need

Ironically, trolling relies on the majority "playing fair". If everyone were dicks and disobeyed every rule there would be no fun in trolling. But instead, the vast majority of people are there to play the game as it's set before them and that is fun for them. And then there are those who feel it's their duty to

I agree. I don't know if it was a setup or not, but if it wasn't, then that was a moment from which those grieving (family members?) may have been able to find some peace, and instead it turned into something that was potentially even more painful on top of losing the life of someone they held dear.

I am not

There is no "art" or "good" trolling. Trolling is just bad.

I fail to see the point where you say trolling is a good thing.

That Warcraft video, i dunno, i'm one of those people who think just cos it's not set in real life doesn't mean that it wasn't a very real moment of remembrance for some who had died, actually died...If you'd done that in real life only the worst people

If this is how FFX-2 is going to be treated this many years after its release, I can't wait until 2020 when people realize just how great XIII was and everyone stops throwing crude insults every which way at the mentioning of its name.

X-2 had, hands down, the best combat system of all FFs prior to XIII. Fast-paced, on-the-fly class changes, high degree of customizability. What was not to love?

I think you're a bit confused. The article isn't praising Elizabeth for having great AI, they're praising her personality (ie writing). They don't say she has the best AI, they're saying she's the best AI companion; what they mean is she is well-written and AI controlled.

Wonderfully said. I think a lot of what you said resides in the story. That Bioshock Infinite's team did a great job of showing the pitfalls of religion when people blindly follow (which often leads to fanaticism, hate, aka Comstalk) as opposed to those who actively engage, question, and improve upon their faith which

This was good read and very insightful. Thanks.

The game is set in 1912 USA. Of course there's going to be a heavy, forceful prescence of Christianity (or as close as they can get without getting the Christians all up in arms over it) as well as rascism. I don't get what the big deal is? They're altering History but they have to keep it true to the time period,

Thank you for posting a fellow Christian voice on this game. It was very well written IMO.

Bravo, Sir. Thoroughly thought-provoking, and I'd say accurate.

Great article. I may not agree with everything you wrote, but your ideas were well formed and I enjoyed it as a whole.
