You can't quantify any reaction by comments on the internet, sorry. That only tells you what the loudest people think. Was it universally liked? Definitely not. But neither was it universally disliked. It does have a pretty solid following and garnered some fairly positive reviews. Judging from people I know as

My first thought as well.

Well, you guys do get a lot of movies earlier. I really don't understand why everything isn't just global these days. Including Netflix et al.

No, no, no. Clearly it would have been better modeled after Mass Effect. Every conversation needs a choice, who cares about Booker, it needs to be ME. I can't even BEGIN to tell you how disappointed I was when there was only one color ending to choose from. Where was the Green and Red water endings? So disappointing.

Ew, no. I can safely say that to assume all men want to look a certain way is also a fairly stretched assumption to make.

Oh yeah? *opens checkbook* "How much?"

Interesting experience. I had the exact opposite really, I felt like Rapture was a wonderfully cool design, but it never felt like it was ever alive to me. In contrast seeing Columbia slowly descend into chaos from seemingly peacefulness felt more jarring and emotional. Especially the scene on the boardwalk where

The police were NOT trying to arrest Booker, they were trying to kill him from the start. The very first time they grabbed him, they tried to skyhook him in the face! Now, they have basically been conditioned to kill the "False Shepard" on sight, so I actually felt horrible having to shoot back because they believed

I guess we will just have to disagree there. I do think it serves the narrative in much the same way. I was horrified and sickened a bit in the game, the descent from idyllic paradise (superficially, at least) to madness of chaos, death, and murder was a stark contrast the felt entirely intentional. They also show

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. I never got shot in the back because I didn't just run into the middle of the zone.

Possession was my main vigor or my first playthrough and 1999 playthrough. On humans it was good for instantly neutralizing the rocketeers or snipers off the cuff. And if there's a decent amount of salt around, using it on Patriots few times to get the rest of the enemies to take the Patriots health down a bit. All in

You put it better than I could. I just watched Django Unchained, in fact, and now I can't stop thinking this is the equivalent of people saying Tarantino films have such great themes and dialogue, but could do without the violence. No one seriously into film would say that to his face.

Exactly! Yeah, the skyhook is so much more gruesome than a GIANT DRILL THROUGH THE CHEST. And that was just the reveal trailer for Bioshock.

To those complaining about wanting stealth/non-lethal options: It's not an RPG, it's telling a very particular story. And Booker's nature as a killer is central to it. Even Slate brings it up as he forces Booker to gun down all his men. Booker clearly protests but is forced to kill just the same.

I actually thought the combat felt leaps and bounds better than Bioshock 1 or 2. The skyline and Elizabeth additions only seemed to make it more fluid for me. I never had a problem telling where i was getting shot from either. I think this is probably a case of different play styles. I would often work my way fairly

This was a fantastic article, and echoed many of my thoughts on the matter as well. Like many others, I wish we had a few more scenes exploring the Elizabeth/Songbird relationship, even though we could infer quite a lot from what is there.

They DID hint at it through the audiologs. After playing through it a second time today, there are a lot of audiologs that seemed vague the first time around not to mention things Comstock/Lutcese say that make perfect sense knowing the twist.

Because that's simultaneously implying that the so called "normal" people aren't good looking enough and yet also implying that those that he does think are aesthetically appealing are abnormal.

I don't mean weak like that, mine was plenty deep as well. But I never felt like the dialogue for him/her was as memorable as anything garrus/tali/mordin/etc. said. No matter what options chosen.

Really? To me shep is the weakest character. And I like it that way since it's the player. It was always the peripheral characters that made it interesting and endearing.
