I went to high school with a guy who applied to the Marines and got rejected for being obese. He was 6’2” 275#. He was first-team all-state in football offense & defense, and won the state title for wrestling. Our athletic director then had to write a letter and send in a photo of this guy who had <10% body fat.

I’m even more surprised that a VW product made it around the Nurburgring without something breaking

Corvette: The last car with pop-up headlights

Car was parked inside, cop pulled over with lights on, rang doorbell, and asked for the owner of the car. Someone had reported me speeding down the street. Yes- I was probably doing a little more than the posted limit, but if I were in a beigemobile doing the same speed, nobody would’ve given it 2 thoughts.

I’m sorry you drive an automatic :(

I have driven a 1st gen Viper and will attest that. Everytime you were at a stoplight, nobody was watching the light. At the gas station I had someone ask me if they could take a picture of their kid sitting in the seat. I was freaking pulled over by a cop- inside my house!

It’s lefty-tighty , righty-loosy... right?

Just came here to post the same thing. Even though I’m more of a manual person myself, my wife wanted me to get an auto so she could drive it as well. I explained the high incident rate on the autos and she was just fine with me getting a car that she couldn’t drive, just as long as it wasn’t going to cost us

They’re tough to find on the used market in good condition. I searched high and low for a TL that wasn’t smoked in, didn’t have ripped seats, the owner wasn’t shady, or the car didn’t have 250k on it. I finally lucked out and found an 04 6MT TL that had just received a new clutch, water pump, and timing belt, but the

I searched high and low for a 6MT w/ Nav but everybody wanted a premium for them, and coincidentally they were all in junk condition. I opted to stick with the 6MT as it’s just more interesting to drive, plus I figured I could learn a thing or two trying to find my own directions from time to time

I had an 06 LGT before I got my TL. We decided to get rid of it because it was showing symptoms of the dreaded ringland failure and was going to cost more money than I had at the time to fix it. It’s the only car that I truly regret selling and getting rid of; I adored that car to hell and back

04 TL here. Just bought it in November, so I’m still discovering new stuff everyday. I do feel like he’s not giving it enough credit in the speed department, but perhaps that’s because he gets to drive truly fast cars.

Coupled with my other comment, I’m 95% sure we went to the same school. What you said sounds verbatim like my alma mater’s Formula (now Formula Hybrid) program

In my experience, the smaller-knit teams typically do pretty well for their size. The bigger teams are all comprised of 75% of the team doing diddly anyways, with a few rare exceptions where the advisors really step up and make everybody contribute or else they’re off the team

Sounds like my alumni, who banned F-SAE and went 100% F-H-SAE

Just sold my last vehicle this way. It worked out flawlessly

All the ones I see online have auto windows, but nevertheless the only thing not oldschool about that truck is the price— still north of $30k!

Enormous wheels also lose fuel economy in real driving. On highway, they can provide a minimal amount of economy if you’re on a perfectly flat & smooth road with cruise control set, but for your average 40-60% highway/city mix, you’re going to lose out on some serious benefits from starting/stopping and

It’s like what a car would be if it were Transgender.

There’s one parked in the lot a few doors down from where I work. Makes me *le sad* everytime I see it twice a day
