I have a weird affinity for these sleds - you just don't see them around too much any more. I say Nice Price for the clean manual swap and the rumbly V8. This is a cool car.

I've always been a fan of these things for some reason. I don't really dig big cars, especially not big coupes, but the MKVIII has always been an exception. The CEL and ABS issues are cause for concern, but I'm still gonna go with NP.
Alright, confession time: I love these Lincolns. They're big, swooping and just look awesome. Hell, if this car had waited 5 or 6 months for me to get my student loans banished, I'd probably be calling the seller right now.
2002 E39 BMW 530i, 122k miles, 5 Speed Manual, Clean Title, $4,980 Buy it now.
Boom Shakalaka
My dad bought a 540i 6spd in January 2000. Simply put, the car was really incredible. Super smooth on the freeway, power to hoon and stunningly beautiful. He did a number of tasteful modifications which included mild power increases over time. He sold it, to a fellow enthusiest, a couple years ago and replaced it…
The MKVIII's 32V 4.6L V8 was quite a gem. I had a boss in high school that had one and one time he asked me to get it and wash it for him. I drove it around to the door where he was outside having a smoke. He asked "it's pretty nice, eh?" I said it was "okay" taking a jab at him. He then said "I bet you won't do a…
Massachusett State Police had one back in the early 90's that they'd run on I-90 west of Westfield on the big hill. Very nicely done covert strobes, etc. Surprised a lot of people on that road. I ran that road every week and somehow avoided that car.
the teksid block with the 4v heads actually came on the mark VIII prior to their introduction in the cobra. Rather than the lincoln having a cobra motor, the cobra had the lincoln motor with the addition of a steel crank shaft and a different cobra specific intake manifold.
My dad was highly involved with the design/development of the MN 12 / FN10 rear suspension.
This car is still on my want to own someday list (It's a LONG list though).
I sure do miss mine... Someone called it a grandma car once, but then I took them for a drive and they didn't think that anymore.
My mom had one of these for a few years in a very nice pearly red color. Always had a soft spot for them.
The Lincoln Mark VIII is the quintessential American luxury sedan. And when it does a burnout, well, it only does it…
Joji Nagashima, the man who designed the E39, quite possibly the best looking modern BMW sedan ever made. Even 12 years after the last one rolled off the showroom, I'm still a big fan of that body style.
Not incredibly obscure, but one of my favorite 90's supercars was the Jaguar XJR-15.
I nominate the Lotus Elise GT1. Because Need for Speed II.
I've only been peripherally aware of this "record lap of Manhattan" business, but I just watched some of the unedited film, and I have to wonder why everyone's got their panties in a twist over it. Yes, it appears that the driver is cutting his way through traffic at supra-legal speeds, but it wouldn't look nearly as…
What disappoints me in this case is that there are too few people pissed off at how the criminal justice system has treated this guy. Yeah posting the video when he did was stupid. I can't even fault him (much) for making it in the first place. He has a valid point that a lot of people do that stuff. As several…
I think this was a stupid stunt, but as another non-citizen if I were in his position I would also have made a run for the border.
Ya know, he's kinda right.....our legal system seems to have been taken over by over zealous prosecutors who have their own personal and political gains in mind. Afroduck shouldn't have done what he did, but the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Another sad example of the failing US criminal justice system...
