No, You're not listening. I'm not saying there are currently more people using FaceTime than YouTube on networks, mainly because of the subject of the article. YOU CAN'T use FaceTime on networks.. It's restricted.
It's also the ONLY one included on the OS of more than 15 million devices.. So... Yeah.

Here are some reasons people would use FaceTime instead of Skype.
You see, there is a major difference between x amount of people choosing to download a 3rd party app, and y amount of people using an integrated technology factory installed.. with more publicity than any video chat service known to man.

Messages doesn't remove any features as far as I'm aware. If you download the beta now, both the iChat windows, and Messages windows appear separate. I haven't had too much tooling around, but i think it's still there for now.
First off, Mountain Lion will be cheap. If you did have to buy from the AppStore, it wouldn't be savage. However, normally greek upgrade can be applied for within a six month period. Generally to avoid halting sales. Any mac purchased around the announcement time will be eligible.
