Well given Taylor's body of work and the Civil Wars' body of work, it sounds like it could fit in perfectly on a Civil Wars album with their other stuff but doesn't really sound like anything Taylor's done in the past. It literally sounds like a Civil Wars song with Taylor singing on it.

But what if Taylor Swift hadn't been attached to this song? I legitimately think they'd still get the same exposure because of how big the Hunger Games is.

Grr, I hadn't thought of that. But I don't think I can stop myself- she's actually a legitimate trigger to my bipolar disorder, I hate her so much. She pretty much stands for all of the shit I've gotten from my relatives because she is the "perfect country Christian girl" and I'm not. Not that I'd want to be like her,

Same here! Ooh, this so exciting. I went to one the casting calls for extras they held in Concord, but by the time I had a chance to go, they were down to just casting Capitol extras and I'm too pudgy to be from the Capitol. *sigh*

No, I feel like the Hunger Games would have made them marketable without Taylor Swift.

Sorry, but I really cannot stand Taylor Swift. The idea of anyone thinking that this is actually her song makes me all ragey inside.

What. The fuck. I love teaching, but the government is increasingly making the job shittier and shittier.

HOLY SHIT WHAT

But I feel like people would have done that anyway, with their being attached to the Hunger Games, rather than Taylor Swift.

I just can't stand how every fucking song Taylor Swift writes is about mooning over some boy, some bitch who stole her boy, or how her boy cheated on her with some bitch. That is soooooo not Katniss. Now I just found out that Miranda Lambert and her girl group, the Pistol Annies, are also on the soundtrack. Miranda is

Personally, I think she's a terrible singer, and given that the female singer in the Civil Wars is so much a better sounding than her, I feel mildly insulted that the producers felt the need to attach a "big name" to the song to make it "marketable". Because really, this is CLEARLY a Civil Wars song with her singing

Except it's not her song. It's a Civil Wars song with her singing on it, and given that the female singer in the Civil Wars is so much a better singer than her, I feel mildly insulted that the producers felt the need to attach a "big name" to the song to make it "marketable".

Yep, they filmed the Arena in the Blue Ridge Mountains (part of the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina) and District 12 in the foothills. You have no idea how thrilled I am that they filmed in my homestate. My hometown too, given that they filmed the Capitol in Charlotte.

Probably because it's a Civil Wars song with her singing on it, and while Taylor sucks eggs, the Civil Wars are legitimately good (they actually won a Grammy this year for best folk album). I actually feel mildly insulted that the producers felt the need to attach a "big name" to the song to make it "marketable".

Exactly, and given that the female singer in the Civil Wars is so much a better singer than her, I feel mildly insulted that the producers felt the need to attach a "big name" to the song to make it "marketable".

It's not her song. See my reply to Dave Hasbrouck.

She scares me. She looks like some kind of supervillain, kind of like a tackier Anna Wintour crossed with Lex Luthor. I wonder if Newt's plans for a moon base are all a part of some diabolical scheme of hers to mount a deathray on the moon and hold Earth for ransom. She must be stopped.
