Ok, well, I guess I was the only one who watched Private Practice. It was a mediocre show for most of its run for sure, and I used to get miffed at how it would chicken out in the controversial storylines. But towards the very end it was really good at the "show, don't tell" part of illuminating issues - late term

Indeeeeeed.

Whatever, Katie has already dismissed this thread. If y'all want to revel in the fear, have at it. I look forward to all the comments in the next week about being afraid to leave the house. Totally a feminist slant, yep.

A feminist slant would not be to exploit women's natural feelings of vulnerability for page views.

Reading articles thinking they will follow the headline?

Yes. Not to mention that it's natural to have an increased sense of vulnerability when a story like this breaks, and articles like this are exploiting that for page views. As if we're not already unsettled by the actual case...

You know, when it comes to cases like this I just want the facts, I do not want fear-mongering. I actually read this article thinking I would find out new information. Instead I get a "society sucks, law enforcement sucks, men suck, retail sucks..." Way to delve deep there.

Next release: "Coochie Coochie"

Well, yikes.

Uh yeah, I did that. I am also perfectly aware of the "broad subject" you deign to discuss in detail.

I agree. I want to be dismissive of her...but she's endeared herself to me somehow. No idea when that happened.

Oh please. She's recounting her sex life to her mentor. I sincerely doubt she was coerced or felt obligated to do THAT.

If the pregnancy is carried through then the support is for the child, and thus both's responsibility unless an adoption is planned. It's not a matter of men's rights/women's rights but child rights.

But, as someone pointed out to me the other day, it's harder to read the grays with the window system because you still have to pull them out. What happens if you have a completely new person? Does Gawker Media not want new additions to the commenting system? That seems counter-intuitive, and I'm guessing Kinja
