Needs the Tweet Beat title above the article's name. I might be the only one, but I rely on those titles for Dirt Bag and Tweet Beat.

Meredith Kercher was a lesbian, no? I'm not parroting tawdry tabloid stories, I swear I read that in the news in the beginning and that her family never wavered in support for her, she was active in LGBT activism in her hometown, she had a partner she broke up with shortly before moving to Italy, etc.

I was wondering after I posted if I had actually read it in the comments. Ok, scratch that.

LOL, dammit, I agree with you here. 'Bout time we got a fictionalized version of events imo. It happens ALL the time anyway, and it can't be any worse than what the press has already sensationalized. Or the Italian prosecutor's version of events.

The Gawker article has a specific example of Howard Raines' tantrum. Neither article has a specific example of Jill Abramson's blow-up. A woman can be considered blowing up if she just raises her voice a notch. I need more to go on.

Howard Raines - tantrums, Jayson Blair scandal.

The Gawker and Jezebel articles each had differing POV, which I understand to the ignorant might seem like they were saying the same thing, but I suggest you read Jez's again to try and glean their point. And then think about the complaint about asking to change a photo mid-meeting. And then wonder if that's really

Completely agreed. I read the article yesterday and that is some old-school sexist attitude showing up, for sure. That, and I'm guessing some of the young ones want to alternate between being hand-held and never being told no, and a boss who does neither shall read their wrath. Pretty pathetic.

I feel you. As far as celeb gossip goes I'll feel free to take a stand and blame him more than her because I'll never know the full story and none of it touches me anyway, but I do not understand those who are offended on her behalf. Especially those who admit it's a shitty thing to do. It IS shitty. Super shitty.

Wow. An open marriage with Dutch Royalty with a music icon on the side? Wow.

No. The video of Charlotte's protest was discussed in a more objective manner on other feminist websites and pretty much condemned for her over the top actions. Lindy (who I actually do think is the best writer on this site) is trying to make a point about MRAs. A valid point, but using Charlotte as an example is a

Gross.

Parts of the video are missing. (Some commenters linked it.) Charlotte went extremist. Which is fine if that's what you're into, just report the full story. The bullying reactions are over the top and out of line though.

I think you are probably fine the way you are. More people appreciate honesty and forthrightness than would like to admit.

In London?

Agreed. It is passing the buck. I don't approve of the ad campaign - targeting the models just seems wrong to me. But I don't have a problem targeting designers. It wouldn't be the end-all be-all but it would be a start.

Fair enough. Sorry I was harsh.

Yeah I don't think so. Your posts are normally spot on. I think you're playing it safe by posting per the outrage normally associated with Jezebel and ignoring the actual issue in favor of social capital. This is the thing about the Jezebel groupthinking that irks me so much.

I find this thought incredibly naive. We're talking about an industry that glamorized cocaine and heroin. Where models have no zero autonomy. Where lecherous photographers are heralded for their pervy photo shoots. Where a certain body type is the only body type. Concerns about health aren't even on the table.
