yup. that sort of thing happens ALLLL the time in some cities. i remember having a difficult time trying to find a room to rent in Portland, mostly bc the best candidates were all "WE ARE A RAW FOODS VEGAN HOUSEHOLD" and i am an anemic asshole who no, can't just go vegan bc i need a place to live. some of the

i will totally add this to my statement!

i swear to fucking cthulu if this means i can't get cadbury caramello & flake bars at the store anymore, i may have to defect & move to the UK, bc hershey's hasn't been worth eating for YEARS.

clearly you have never lived in a city that regularly has craigslist ads for only vegan roommates that take a moment to preach to you during yer house search. i don't hate vegans at all, but i sure do dislike preachy fuckers, and a lot of cities are CHOCK FULL of preachy fuckers.

... your friends are fucking TERRIBLE, who does that to people?!? i'm sorry about the meathead dickwads.

i wish i could just carry printouts of this and distribute liberally to the next asshole i hear yammering about their "superior" diet of whatever stripe. goes equally for the OMG I AM VEGAN ARE YOU VEGAN? YOU SHOULD BE VEGAN. MURDERRRRRRRR folks, and the I AM SO CARNIVEROUS I ONLY EAT CARNIVEROUS BEASTS fucks.

oh yay, it's not just me! i respond interchangeably to bisexual, queer, AND pansexual. whatever gets my point across that i'm interested in ALL permutations of sex/gender is fine by me.

i feel that. how many dates or relationships have i missed out on because a lady had some stereotype against bi girls? at this point it's hard to count. and yeah, a lot of the community just completely overlooks bisexuals, or vilifies, and it sucks and it's bullshit. i just hope the younger generations aren't learning

YES. THIS. ALLLLL OF THIS. thank you thank you thank you!

well that's valid. but considering rape statistics are 1 in 4, and i know few civilian women who haven't been assaulted in some fashion, i think it's less the club environment and more a society-wide problem. it's still a problem that needs solving, for certain.

oh, there's plenty of dancers who absolutely want to be there - and those who don't are usually sacrificing for family, just like most workers at shitty jobs. all jobs require bullshit of some variety.

YES. THIS. and particularly in Portland, where both dancers AND clubs are plentiful, everyone just shuffles around & problems are ignored forever.

you know, one of the reasons i adore this column is that just when i start to think the world might not be utter shit, this reminds me that yes, a lot of the world IS utter shit. thank fuck there's also some great glorious bastards around to perk the place up. :D

YES. this happened to me with the first few relationships i was in. i found it happened as i started to have emotional problems within the relationship. but the pattern did break eventually!

we live in Austin, and my bf drives an ice route. so that is how he's ended up at Matthew McConaughey's house, to deliver a huge ice sculpture. more than once. when McC was around, he was easygoing & polite.

oh, i'm sure we would!! fuck knows we have similarities to talk about. & when depression loosens its stranglehold, i really enjoy my crazy self! :D

"AT LEAST MY BROKEN BRAIN WORKS MORE BETTER THAN YOURS ASSHOLE"

:/ your mom and my dad would get along.

it's so awesome that you're being supported by ppl at your job, too - even though your brain may be throwing a guilt party, they sound like they really care. and that's fucking rare in some jobs.

as a bipolar lady who's been where you are, i wish you all the luck, and lots of happy days, and hugs.
