I am a middle class white woman, and it is nice. It’s so nice that I have survivor guilt and intense shame. I have been a lifelong, active Democrat, but this election has been too much. I am an activist now. I just made donations to PP and Human Rights Campaign; it was the first thing I could think to do.

I’ve been having heart palpitations all day.

I appreciate the attempt at context, but these presidents were around pre-nuclear weapons and pre-global warming. The worst case scenario is just so much worse now.

I hear Vince Vaughn is a Republican, and I’ve laughed at some of his movies. Um...I guess people mention P.J. O’Rourke as a humorous Conservative, but beyond that...uh...it’s almost as if Conservatives/Republicans have no sense of humor!

Not yet! Any spare internet moment has been spent on election stuff!

Yes, and this opportunity to get rich has been afforded to men for a long time. I agree there’s a systemic greed problem in this country, but my observation is that people dislike her for reaching levels of financial success previously only occupied by men.

I think they both unquestionably have high name recognition, but the real question is why? What were they doing that made them so famous? One was famous for public service, and one was famous for reality TV, tabloids, and Twitter feuds.

They are real problems, and I’m glad that she will be elected so we the people can hold her accountable and make her change. The main difference between Hillary and the Orange Menace is that Hillary listens and learns. She practices and she improves. I think she will be, policy-wise, essentially Obama 2.0 and I am

Right, but to focus blame on one person for cybersecurity failings when she was clearly working in a culture of lax computer security is unfair. Remember that her server was never hacked (although the DOJ’s was). She provided no intelligence info to any foreign entity. And this is all fallout from actions taken 7

You really think people are voting for Clinton solely (or mostly) because of name recognition? The woman has been a public servant for decades—does that mean nothing?

The House did not include basic cybersecurity training for its members until this year. This is not a Clinton specific problem.

Rose wine and Tums for me.

Hopefully this means she wasn’t raped.

To me, the most striking thing about the leaked Podesta emails is that Hillary isn’t afraid to surround herself with people who can and do disagree with her. She is not hiring a team of sycophants, and I think that is so important for people in power.

Getting older has made me so much less judgmental. Life’s too short...do what makes you happy!

Mmmmm. Just wanted to say that soup is one of my favorite things to cook and eat, and this thread made me really happy on a shitty day!

That is definitely a course of my last supper!

Miso or Matzo.

Both for me.
