I can’t even believe you had to explain that. Kids today. Bully!

Well, i presume you are being hyperbolically obtuse for purposes of making your point. But just in case, what I was saying is that imperial measures subdivide by successive powers of 2: 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32. Its easy to successively eyeball halves down as far as you need. It’s less easy to eyeball .3 or .7.

Nevertheless, the average sea level is the zero point we use when reporting elevation. I don’t measure the temperature of melting ice when I take a degrees C temperature measurment, I use mercury expansion, alcohol expansion, or a thermocouple response of a device callibrated at several temperatures.

Arguably non-metric measuring distances are much more intuitive in that is is way, way easier to estimate halfway points than 1/10th points by eye.

Its the same distance between degrees as K, just a different zero point. One that is useful to chemists and biologists. What you’re suggesting is like saying we shouldn’t report elevation above sea level because we know how far away the center of the earth is.

I’m guessing you’re under 30; we tried that in the 70s and 80s, and gave up.

Same here, except mine keep asking me about the new Spider-man movie they have been seeing trailers for.

so go back four weeks later.

And this makes me so mad, becuase in the xover episode, vandal was badass enough to fight team arrow to a standstill and hit the flash with a knife, and when he was pissed pull out magic powerful enough to flatten a city. Yet somehow now Rip Hunter can solo him.

Yeah I’m about done with this show. There is not a lot of time travel in this time travel show. Also, why is Rip mad at himself for not killing VS in ancient Egypt, since we now know he could not have killed him due to immortality. But also also, why is VS, who previously could fight all of team Arrow + the Flash to a

Don’t worry, they’re just trying to create a breach to allow Azathoth access to this dimension.

I think you need to reread the article, and click through to the links? CJD transmission via prions is known; AD seeding is the new hypothesis. It may well be crazy and wrong, but George is correctly representing what the researchers are proposing. The title of the nature news article is

No no, I understand your position and that CJD causes plaques . But I don’t think the article title is misleading; if you read the quoted text the researchers are actually hypothesizing that the amyloid plaques are also communicalbe via amyloid seeds. So those researchers may be wrong as the obvious alternative

Well, my question is: does having CJD cause the formation of AD plaques? or is AD seperately communicable, and these people caught both CJD and AD from exposure to the respective proteins?

Its interesting because known prion diseases (CJD) can be inherited genetically (you have proteins that are prone to spontaenous conversion to prion proteins) or contracted (through exposure to prions). ANd the contracted form can be gotten by exposure to prions from someone with genetic CJD.

I’m having a hard time seeing how this will sustain compelling procedural elements. When your main character is (1) immortal and (2) able to get everyone to state their deepest desires and secrets within 15 seconds, seems like solving cases will be pretty straightforward.

Yeah I watched the bit and concluded that the town needs to hire a less crapy artist to depict the same scene. The story is cute and about cooperation between the peoples; I feel like you can draw a wrestling match without it looking like one dude is trying to murder the other. I doubt that the goal of the town seal

Yes so frenzied! I am rabid grr grr grrr. SO totes embarrased by my typoooosssssssss! wha wha wha. I cry like baabbbies!
