It's not exactly innovative—-But it sure as hell isn't a gimmick. A gimmick is something that is included as a central feature but doesn't really serve any real purpose other than simply being there and doesn't really enhance the experience beyond normal capabilities.

Kojima is a brilliant developer. Speaking as a huge fan of Metal Gear, I really feel it's a shame that he's been chained to it for so long.

I am incredibly glad that he's finally getting a chance to bring his unique talents to a new, better suited game.

Turned base strategy is something that has been sorely missing in gaming for ages.

Give it a year and the prices for DDR4 will plummet.

Still wish they'd get off their asses and focus more on MRAM so it is usable in home computers some time before I die—-I swear they've been working on it for a good 20 years now and there's still no word on home models—-or even professional models.

Neither console uses VRAM—-They have 8GBs total memory which is a shared pool used by everything that needs short-term memory.

This means that the O.S. takes a chunk out of that, then the non-visual data for the game takes a chunk out of that (usually between 2-3GB), then there's typically a chunk reserved by the O.S.

Resolution and polygons aren't the only things behind increasingly lifelike 3D worlds. Lighting plays a huge part as well.
