this is a series of debacles, but one that i am not seeing get much traction:

they should have all been “identified” by not being allowed to leave the capitol except into police custody (or the hospital/morgue if they resisted). go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

i was 2 months old at my parents’ wedding. everything worked out fine. you can be flexible.

this is a great article. ms. fitts has really set a high bar for her colleagues.

this ought to blow up. there is nothing nuanced about shooting someone in the back 7 times while he’s walking away from you.

some of us can read. eddie specifically said “from now on.” she’s a pretty old hand at gender fluidity at this point. i think if she wanted everyone to do the ahistorical 1984-style stuff you’re out here demanding, she would have said so.

jfc, she literally says in the article we’re discussing “from now on.” she does not say “oceania has always been at war with eastasia.”

the lord of the rings trilogy was 3 books made into 3 movies. the hobbit is a shorter book than any of the 3 l.o.t.r. books, so making it into 3 movies never made any sense. the animated version from back in the day covered everything nicely as a single film.

“Remember the dishwasher, you’d press it— boom—there’d be, like, an explosion,” Trump said. “Five minutes later, you open it up, the steam pours out. Now you press it 12 times. The women tell me, again. They give you like four drops of water.”

is your district solidly blue? this sounds like a good appointment but i do hope they took our slim margin of control in the house into consideration.

“The DOJ also decided to convert Purdue to a public benefit company.

the facts of the 2% increase

according to exit polls, which any statistician will tell you were especially inaccurate* this year. the people who voted in person (who form the basis of exit polls) were not representative of the overall population of voters, so it was even harder than usual this year to get a good sample.

i realize you put it in gladwell’s hypothetical thoughts so maybe it was just used to make him sound like a numpty, but “poaching the egg” is a terrible euphemism.

your conclusions are bollocks. the amount of transmissions attributed to restaurants is low *because* of the restrictions placed on them (and also due to poor contact tracing - much easier to identify transmission between family members). the middle ground” is to provide income replacement for people whose

everybody knows jazz and transit fit together like peas in a pod.

what toobin did was wrong and stupid and definitely fireable. i have no sympathy for him and as a new yorker subscriber i’m glad they dumped him. for my money it might even be worth trying to set a precedent that deliberately exposing oneself in a work videoconference meeting with colleagues ought to fall under some

“there is violence in non-Black people demanding that a fat Black woman make choices about her own body based on how it makes them feel.”

if you threaten someone on the internet you should receive whatever treatment you threatened.
