yes i read up after a bit more to refresh. it’s a pneumatically driven valve, but the pneumatic control is by internal electrical solenoids.

I submit this relatively stock mazda engine bay from 1990. This era of cars was still more hand assembled than today’s CAD driven robo-shoehorning.

Working on them shows off that consideration.

Freevalve uses a lot of electrical solenoids right?...so might be less than traditional methods, depending on their specific design.

Also you could do all of that in third gear. It would happily churn from 30 mph to 105+mph in that one gear. I miss my 97 Aero (silver). I remember that on the highway, damn near nothing stock could touch it and driving one back to back with an RX7 and a Clownshoe Z3M the & 7/M handled very nicely ..but the engines

What did he line up against? Manual or DSG? Did he use launch control or not? Asking because my fatass manual 2010 a3 hatch(similar but lower spec car) can eat 2011+ wrx’s trying their hardest, even with my hamfisted shifting and 130K miles.
