both mgs 3 and 4 still have silly elements. and the series has always taken itself seriously when it mattered.

and both were released before mgs 3. so the last mgs game to have a standard torture scene used it in a shocking and realistic way

oh yes the torture in mgs 3 was so fun with snake getting beaten up, electrocuted and his skin burned through it, not to forget teh fact that he lost an eye.

it has nothing to do with quiet since quiet is not in ground zeroes

devs will always find a way to do more stuff when it comes to graphics even if it is just to fill 5 minutes of an interview talking about some super little graphical detail just so they can avoid having to talk about their inability to program good A.I.
