You know, despite their sometimes shady repuation for reliability in cars. These mercedes Actros trucks can be extremley reliable. In a place like Iraq. Every truck mechanic you talk to swears up and down by their toughness and reliability.

We also get the petrol version with the saame v6 as the 4runner. For about 30K in the middle east. You can get very clean used ones for about 25K.

In iraq, we get a lot of these versions and for quite good prices. You can get a brand new 2020 4 door pick up with a manual for $ 30,000. 

You probably misunderstood me, by overhaul i just meant that the radiator and waterpump . Which on an 8 year old german car is not that much. And they are fairly easy to replace. My basic point is that some of these german cars NOT all of them can be decently reliable if taken care of properly

Not sure about this one, but a very close friend of mine has a 2012 with the petrol inline six. And its one of the most reliable cars i have seen. Its got around 140,000 miles on it by now. And apart from overhauling the cooling system he has not done anything to it other tha regular maintenance. Its a great ride.

Ford figo, its basically a sedan version of the ecosport with the godawful transmission. It is the single worst car i have ever driven. 

I know they have their quirks but honestly those XJ's are offer brilliant driving characteristics and very suple rides. I drove a 2011 v8 for a while and it was much better than a 7 series or s class to drive. Sure the tech aint great but the mechanicals are great. And surprisingly reliable 

I have driven these. Honestly, the ride is not what it is been made. Sure, it floats but the secondary ride is not good at all. Especially for expansion joints. A 300K car should not ride like that. 

Im very surprised that no ond even mentioned an lC100 or a lexus lx470. Both in tbat price range and below. With some tasty mods they will do the highway and trails.
