Yeah, I know he lost. He knows he lost. Did you even read my comment? The “something positive” he’s doing for this country is using the weight of his massive following to push the Democratic agenda to the left. THAT is going to help Hillary defeat Trump, and looking beyond November, it’s going to increase turnout in

I understand why you feel that way, but for me personally, I am not the one who would be “sacrificed” by a Trump presidency. I’m pretty comfortably middle-class, and I cannot in good conscience contribute indirectly to a Trump presidency that would harm, possibly irreparably, the most vulnerable members of our society.

No, he’s the choice of thoughtful, empathetic millennials and disenchanted working people (and, yeah, a handful of crazy people). Privilege is assuming social/racial/sexual justice can exist without economic justice. The amount of snark and dismissiveness leveled at Sanders around here — literally the only candidate

Also, I am wondering, what does a grumpy old lady have to do around here to get ungreyed?

Except those aren’t two different things. There is no fucking social justice without economic justice. You’d need to be drinking some serious neoliberal kool-aid to think otherwise.

I was being pretty obviously hyperbolic. He isn’t literally “ruined” for me. But now something I once innocently enjoyed has been politicized. That sucks.

Doesn’t take much to ruffle the feathers of right-wing reactionaries, apparently. <shrugs>

Nah. The pitching was leagues better, but the 2011 Phillies couldn’t hit. Check how many games they won while scoring 3 or fewer runs. And in game 5, they couldn’t put up a single run against a geriatric Chris Carpenter. 2008 had hitting up and down the lineup, an inferior pitching rotation, but a better bullpen. I’d

Don’t feed the troll.

Pretty sure I didn’t freak out, though you wouldn’t know it by some of the unhinged comments in this thread.

Stop being a humorless bore.

I had a feeling, but I couldn’t not click.

You had to go and ruin Vin Scully for me.

At this point, I’m pretty much only coming here for this and the Mitch Hedberg quotes.

I wasn’t being snarky when I said google it, I just didn’t remember his exact words. I assumed it was pretty common knowledge around here, and judging from the other responses in this thread, it would appear I was right.

You could probably google it. He made some pretty nasty comments awhile back — fatphobic, transphobic stuff. I mean, it’s obviously balanced out by all the good he’s done, but since we’re going all-out and calling him a class act, it seemed worth bringing up.

I don’t dismiss him outright. I actually like him quite a bit. But I can’t help but think of that nasty shit he said anytime I hear someone making him out to be a saint.

Eh, he made some shitty comments awhile back. Not a huge deal, but enough to make me stop short of “class act.”

Unless you’re fat. Then he’s kind of shitty.

Yeah I think we gotta give it to the racist bird.
