Oh believe me, I certainly agree with you... I've considered it multiple times for T mobile. But I do have generally good service since I'm in their home state of NJ and AT&T/TMobile have teeeerrible service around here.
I'm still committed to imessage and all the group chats I have... but I do have to say, using my fingerprint instead of a code is really, really nice.
