I’m all for a standalone device, ideally one without a touchscreen, with physical buttons, and android basis, but the lack of significant battery life is a deal killer, along with the price. It’s also significantly more expensive than the ipod touch.

Yes, but that $200-$300 bottle is probably the upper limit.  A $400 bottle isn’t going to taste better.  There’s a good chance that the $5,000 bottle is at that price based on rarity, not taste. So you have a point, but not in the price range you’re suggesting.
