Any news on an Android app?
This is a nice surprise in my rss reader today! Thank you.
Hahaha!
Yeah, Running my OS on a 1TB WD 7200 rpm. Smooth as ice. SDD is to pricy, maybe Hybrid.
Throw Linux on there. Manjaro or Xbuntu.
36gigs?!?!? That is huge! What do you run your whole OS in memory?
Going to pick up another 4gigs later. :)
Depends. I use windows 7 and Ubuntu 13.10. Also have some tweaks in about:config. Have Ghostery (which is a must if you are a power user and care about page load times). Then I have a couple of greasemonkey scripts. To end it off I use a custom DNS for faster resolving.
I do heavy gaming (Planetside 2, Bio shock series, Dota 2) and only have 4 gigs. Although 8gigs would make things really smooth, I have no immediate need to upgrade. I also sometimes have numerous programs running (Firefox [with Grooveshark pinned], Photoshop [sometimes], Steam [Always open], Skype [via trillian]).…
I am in no way a Firefox Fanboy. I used Chrome for years. I also told everyone to use Chrome back when I didn't use Firefox. Back to the point, Firefox is not bloated (Chrome is full of crappy stuff). And adding features does not always add to bloat.
(I know that) The links for themes is not on the website and some people might not know where to look for all this info. Also people are lazy.
It could be that newer versions have made progress in this area. I have used an older version for some time as I don't tend to use it. Maybe it depends on library size.
btw: What is the RAM usage on your system?
Looks like you are the one who needs to keep track. http://readwrite.com/2013/07/10/the…
& about that chrome tray business - http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/…
On my system Foobar uses 100+ MB RAM, Aimp uses only a mere 50 MB. I have tons of songs loaded in Aimp and it starts faster than notepad. (I know in this day and age nobody cares about a few MB RAM, but I do. My music player is open 24/7 and I don't want to worry about it.)
Firefox is not bloated, Chrome is. (Extensions and webapps with built in notification center and tray close [which makes chrome stay in your RAM])
(I felt like this needed its own thread)
Aimp 3 is the media player I am putting up for recommendation for people moving from winamp.
The shear power of Aimp is terrifying and a joy to use!
Some features:
Many people always think I am going to break my chair by working like this... -_-
Boo
You did not convince me. Staying with Netscape!
Haha!!
I have to agree
