The Panasonic competitor to the EM-5 is the GMC-GH3, which also has weather sealing. EM-5 probably still takes better stills, but lacks the GH3's (and G5's) 1080p recording. The Panasonics can even do 1080p60

DSLRs are going the way of the dinosaurs and traditional landlines. They're more expensive, have more parts that can break, and are bigger (not just bodies, but lenses too) for no other reason than to hold the bulky mirror system.
Great advice about not looking " like an obvious gang member", the Crips and Bloods around here have been stealing corner molding and bubble levels left and right. The Lowes installed a guard tower last week and put an ex-cop up there with a high-power rifle. The Home Depot no doubt will follow suit.
Two Points:
You get what you pay for. There are a small handful of publications (NYTimes, The Economist) that will go in-depth so you actually understand the stream of Twitter-sized headlines you get for free elsewhere.
The problem is that Apple, and everyone else these days, hires idiots. It's not the employee's fault that they're idiots, they're usually teens, so they lack the experience and judgement to know when to drop the BS on policy and clean up a mess caused by an employee of your company that you probably will never meet.
Best advice I ever read on fanboism: "You didn't invent it, or build it. You just bought it. Why are you bragging?"
Nothing wrong with a rational Apple fan, keyword is rational. This guy, as you alluded to, is just a tool that doesn't know the hardware side of his field.
"Does Nikon seriously want people to throw their cameras?"
It's always golden to link the 538.
Non-competes don't hold up in most states in the US, thinking they'd apply across national borders is...optimistic.
If anything has been proven by Intel, it's that x86 isn't why their chips are so much more power hungry. It's because the ARM chips are really, really weak, performance-wise.
The government isn't "suppressing prices". The government is selling it's stock of helium to the private market, because no one thinks the government should be hoarding helium. Anyone with some foresight and enough cash would try to buy as much of the stuff as they could, because prices will spike as soon as the…
Yeah, comments about the horrible urban planning used in building the new city would be much more appropriate given that the photo puts it fully on display. I mean, building a 10 lane highway (SZR, if I recall correctly) right through the core of the city is just a really dumb, dumb idea. Sheik Mo should have listened…
Actually, the opposite is probably better. A 4" QHD screen is going to get you pretty close to the pixel density of a 4.8" 720p screen on the larger phone. Then you take the same CPU, downclock the GPU by 30% to conserve power (since it doesn't need to push as many pixels), cut back on your voltage regulators and caps…
That's pretty much why I stopped playing it. Not matter how good my game was, I'd only get 10-20% of the points because there was always 1 or 2 guys with X gear (good stuff, not the basic pistol that will get upgraded to IX or X before you even get a new weapon type) running around one-two-shooting everything. Gave it…
Why are you complaining about Far Cry having a B-movie plot? The first one had a cliche twist ending and some kind of SyFy-esque mutant monkey-beasts. It's part of the franchise.
