I wonder if it was something new he came up with, or if one of the other screenwriters tried to shoehorn it in.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. There was something not quite right with the one used in the movie. Didn't seem as 'practical'? Kinda like Batman not being able to turn his head... might be helpful if Cap can hear...

Omni did an article about Dixon's speculations - creeped me out as a young'n.

Looks like Nine is a couple seats over from Dr. Strangelove and the Red Skull.

New/retro TARDIS control room and a new mid-season title sequence that long time fans are "guaranteed to love"? I foresee slit-scan and Matt Smith's face in the titles. Are they running out of ideas? Time to regenerate?

For arguments sake, let's say this happens near Earth.

I could see Jennifer Walters showing up on S.H.E.I.L.D. sometime - but it seems like you'd have to hijack the story of an Avengers sequel to give her an origin and fit her in.

"Remember how the Avengers movie.... (blah blah blah) ...which as a filmmaker should be the last thing you want."

I haven't been into comics in years - but I saw a New 52 Swamp Thing at the bookstore and decided to thumb through it. Pretty atrocious. Swampy and Deadman swinging through some netherworld obstacle course barking out bits of exposition to each other on their way to confront Arcane. Swamp Thing just doesn't fit in

You've changed the desktop theme, haven't you?

At first blush, I like it. I hope it does play into the 50th Anniversary - would really love to have some kind of multiple-doctors episode, for old-times sake.

You make a strong argument, to which I can only respond: "Blood control! Blood control! Awwww! I haven't blood control for yeeears!"

My thoughts exactly.

Why does Google Earth come up first in an App Store search for "Google Maps" and I've got to scroll through several other apps before reaching Google Maps? I hate their search.

You have earned an audible chuckle.

Ah yes, you're right.

A lot of it is nostalgia - so many in the US grew up watching the reruns on PBS. Though my wife and kids love the new show and never saw the old episodes. It always used to be geared towards kids - though it's a little more broadly targeted now. The modern Doctor Who has a lot in common with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Live up to this trailer please? Was pretty indifferent to mildly disappointed with the teaser trailer - but THIS is the kind of Superman I've always wanted to see on screen. Just live up to the trailer... okay? Don't pull a Tron Legacy on me.

The Next Doctor was a pretty good episode, I'll agree - but I had forgotten it being a Christmas episode. Hugh Bonneville was pretty great - I would have warmed to him faster than I did Matt Smith.

I would argue that Cheesiness in a Christmas special is nearly unavoidable, but at least we agree that Voyage of the Damned is not superior?
